Camila McConaughey may now be synonymous with her long, luscious raven locks, but there was a time when she embraced an edgy pixie cut that completely transformed her look. The 43-year-old took to Instagram on June 3 to share a throwback photograph of her daring hairstyle.
The snap captured Camila during her time hosting the television show Shear Genius. She wore a silver mini dress featuring a sleeveless design and an embellished bodice, which she layered over a pair of black leather pants with a sleek, contoured silhouette. Completing the look was an ultra-short bob with full bangs.
"Hoo my…showed up on my camera memories! Hosting the TV Show Shear Genius I took on the challenge!! something I never thought I could do! With my English at the time…reading teleprompters were a challenge too! I did it ! pixie hair and everything! and man I learned so much and had so much fun! So many hair styles… I will try to find more!" she penned in the caption.
The model's followers flocked to the comments section to gush over her throwback look. "So beautiful and special," wrote one social media user. "I'm sorry l, who is this," added another fan. "I didn't even realize that was you!" commented a third follower.
Andy Heasman, International Creative Director at Rush Hair, spoke to us about Camilla's bold look from back in the day. "Camilla McConaughey shared a great throwback photo which incorporated one of this season’s top trends – the micro mini bob," they shared. "A sharp, sculpted silhouette, the micro mini bob is the perfect balance between feminine and bold – making it a fashion-forward choice in both 2010 and 2026."
"This style focuses on precise lines, which naturally enhances softer face shapes, like Camilla’s heart face shape. When it comes to styling, I’d recommend using a light spritz of texture spray to boost volume and style the hair, but this cut also looks great being left to air-dry for a more boho-chic feel. Nowadays, we know Camilla to have long glossy, mocha locks, but I’m loving the shorter hair – it makes her more dominant features pop," Andy added.
Camila hosted Season three of Bravo's hairstyling competition series Shear Genius in 2010. The Brazilian designer took over from actress Jaclyn Smith as the host and debuted 21 different hairstyles throughout the 10-episode season.
