Katie Holmes knows how to make a style statement, but she let her fresh new 'do take center stage on Friday, June 5.
The 47-year-old stepped out for Chanel's Tribeca Festival Women's Luncheon, rocking a striking hair transformation.
Katie's bouncy waves were replaced with a bold, blunt cut that looked shorter, sitting just below her shoulders, than a few days ago when she attended the Tribeca Festival Bloomberg reception on June 1.
The actress looked incredibly chic with her new 'do, styling it in a center parting, and keeping her outfit simple yet classic.
Katie wore a white T-shirt tucked into a pair of dark-wash denim jeans with a black belt, black shoes, and a white Chanel purse.
Her hair transformation comes ahead of her reunion with her ex-boyfriend and former Dawson's Creek co-star, Joshua Jackson.
The pair is set to attend the world premiere of their new movie, Happy Hours, at the Tribeca Festival on Saturday, June 6.
Katie wrote, directed, and stars in the romantic drama set in New York City, which follows two former lovers reconnecting years after their relationship ended without closure.
According to the official synopsis, "freshly divorced, photographer Liz (Katie Holmes) finds herself surrounded by happy couples. Walking past a bookstore advertising a talk with travel writer Andrew McCloud (Joshua Jackson), Liz freezes up in recognition of her high school boyfriend.
"Through a serendipitous gig, Liz photographs Andrew, and the pair of former lovers pick back up where they left off, rekindling their spark, confiding in one another and working through old wounds. As the fantasy of a life with Andrew becomes closer to reality, Liz must decide whether she's ready to let herself love again."
The storyline feels almost poetic, given their shared history. Katie and Joshua first fell in love during the early days of Dawson's Creek, dating between 1998 and 1999 while filming the hit teen drama.
Katie told Rolling Stone in 1998: "I'm just going to say that I met somebody last year. I fell in love, I had my first love, and it was something so incredible and indescribable that I will treasure it always."
Though their relationship ended, the pair remained close, continuing to work together until the show wrapped in 2003, and maintaining a bond that has clearly stood the test of time.
Discussing the film on the Today show, Joshua described it as a deeply personal and meaningful story.
He said: "Katie wrote this beautiful story for the two of us… There are these people in your life, she's a lifelong friend now, and for us to be able to go back and do this again… was kind of magical."
Both stars have had high-profile relationships since their Dawson’s Creek days. Joshua was married to Jodie Turner-Smith, with whom he shares a daughter, before they split in 2023. Katie, meanwhile, was famously married to Tom Cruise from 2006 to 2012, and the former couple shares daughter Suri.
