Selena Gomez is seemingly taking the new season of Only Murders in the Building a much more fiery route. At least when it comes to her hair!
The actress and singer, 33, is currently filming for the sixth season of the Hulu mystery comedy series in London, and took to social media on Tuesday, June 2 with more outtakes from the trip.
"Wild things happening with @onlymurdershulu while adoring london," she captioned several new clips, some of which saw her dressed in opulent costumes for the show, spending time with friends, getting some bonding moments in with co-stars Steve Martin and Martin Short, and brand new hair.
Selena closed off her post with a selfie of her in a bedroom with dark copper-toned ginger locks, sporting light curls throughout, and then included a clip of herself laying on bed in a black tank and sweats, showing off her new hair.
It's unclear if the look is one to stay, or just a dye job (or even a wig!) for just the show, but fans are already obsessed with redhead Selena, leaving comments on the post like: "London really looks AMAZING on you," and: "This orange hair???? hmmm I need to know what's going on in this season!!" plus: "The red hair??!!! Helloooo."
Even Ashley Park couldn't resist showing the new 'do some love, commenting on the post: "Ummmm lovvve the red!!" Only time will tell if Selena's new look will stay!
But what looks to be here for the long haul so far is the show itself, which has consistently proven to be a critical and ratings favorite ever since it arrived a year after the Covid-19 induced lockdowns in 2021. When people were starved for more content, Charles-Haden Savage, Oliver Putnam and Mabel Mora gave them the true crime fix they needed.
"I think the writing and the stories are very good, and the premise is unusual," Steve told Numero last year of what he thinks makes the show tick. "What we didn't know was that there was this chemistry that was going to emerge on screen between the three of us that none of us can explain or try to explain."
"We're just having fun. We love each other," he continued. "We are all professionals and we go all out. Our writers do it too, and we have great directors and quality writers. We are lucky." While Steve is one of the show's co-creators, Martin and Selena also serve as executive producers.
The "Back to You" singer also noted that the light-hearted atmosphere on set, especially with two veterans of comedy, definitely helps. "Sometimes it's just impossible to keep a straight face for me," she quipped.
"And they are much better than me in this area. I love comedy and I have so much fun on set. And I think it's mainly thanks to the writing, to the writers."
Based on previous release schedules, Only Murders in the Building season six is likely to premiere in the fall of 2026.
