A spokesperson for the public safety department confirmed that a 54-year-old male passenger was transported to a local medical facility for further evaluation and treatment following the flight. The outlet later identified the patient as Corey, who is currently undergoing tests.

According to reports, doctors believe Corey may be suffering from pancreatitis or gallstones, although no official diagnosis has yet been confirmed.

Representatives for the actor have not publicly commented on his condition.

The Los Angeles Fire Department confirmed it responded to the airport following reports of a passenger experiencing a medical emergency.

The incident came after what had been a busy and emotional weekend for the actor.

Corey had been celebrating the 40th anniversary of the beloved coming-of-age classic Stand By Me alongside co-stars Jerry O'Connell and Wil Wheaton.

The trio participated in special anniversary events in Indiana and Chicago, honouring the 1986 film directed by Rob Reiner.

Based on the novella by Stephen King, Stand By Me follows four young friends on a life-changing journey to find the body of a missing boy. The film also starred the late River Phoenix in one of his most celebrated performances.

The anniversary celebrations came just months after Corey spoke candidly about feeling excluded from the Academy Awards' tribute to director Rob Reiner.

Fans were surprised when Jerry and Wil were invited to participate in the tribute at the 98th Academy Awards, while Corey was not included.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, the actor admitted the omission had been difficult. "I think Jerry and Wil did what had to be done," he said. "It was a fleeting moment, so I don't feel like I missed much at all."

However, he acknowledged that the experience still stung. "It felt a little bit like a family reunion I wasn't invited to," Corey admitted.

Despite his disappointment, the actor said his focus remained on celebrating the legacy of the film and the relationships formed through it.

"We're all very destroyed that things went down the way they did," he said, referring to events surrounding the anniversary celebrations and his hopes that Reiner would eventually join the commemorative tour.
