Jenny McCarthy opened up about her harrowing health journey on Thursday, revealing that she moved into a tent outside her house after being diagnosed with mycotoxin poisoning.

The 53-year-old claimed on her podcast, The Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg Show, that she had fallen ill after spending time in an old dressing room with "air conditioning from 1950", believing that she was affected by the mold in the place.

Jenny added that she began to suffer a myriad of debilitating symptoms after her time in the dressing room, including a root canal infection, chalazions, rashes, swelling, insomnia, and small intestinal bacterial overgrowth.

She suspected that the air conditioning unit was the root of the problem after her makeup artist, "who only works on me in that dressing room", also started experiencing health issues.

After the ordeal, the TV personality felt the need to live in a tent outside her home, despite paying to have a specialist remove any mold in her house. "[I'm] paranoid now about basically sleeping anywhere," she shared, before showcasing her outdoor arrangements.

"I don't have to worry about rain in California, but I do worry about chemtrails and also sprinklers."

"You have to have the contractors come in and rebuild your house… and then you hear, you have to get rid of all your furniture, you have to get rid of all your clothes," Jenny continued.

"That's where this journey has brought me. After all those surgeries, after being diagnosed with mycotoxin poisoning, I feel a little bit sometimes crazy and like the walls are caving in and paranoid. It's really, really hard."

The mother of one felt that she even developed PTSD from the ordeal. "They talk about people with mold poisoning having PTSD. I'm still in the traumatic part. I'm not even in the 'post' part yet, because I feel like now everything is mold. I can detect mold, honestly, like a mold dog."

Jenny previously shared that she had to undergo nine separate surgeries on her mouth in 2025 due to a recurring infection that led to several of her teeth falling out.

Jenny and her husband, Donnie Wahlberg, listed their home in Chicago for $2.8 million in September and revealed their plans to move to Las Vegas.

The mansion features four bedrooms, six bathrooms, a sauna, a home gym, a theater, a waterslide and a hot tub, all spread over 1.3 acres.

"This isn't an extravagant home, but there's no greater symbol of our love for each other than this house and how much love has gone into it," Donnie told People of the abode.

"We made it a goal for ourselves and said it out loud because we wanted to make it happen. And here we are, together with our kids, and we're grateful for every bit of it."
