Cara Delevingne has finally addressed reports that she dated Amber Heard amidst her messy 2016 divorce from Johnny Depp.
At the time, Johnny accused the actress of having an affair with his then-wife, but in a new interview, Cara confirmed that she and Amber did have an "entanglement," but after the pair divorced.
Cara explained that Johnny's belief that she and Amber were having an affair stemmed from them working together on the 2013 movie, London Fields, in which the Pirates of the Caribbean star had a brief cameo.
"It's because we did a movie together, and it was called London Fields. He was also doing the movie," the 33-year-old said on The Louis Theroux Podcast.
"I think he was pretty driven crazy by jealousy. Nothing was happening at that point. Later, after they divorced, it had, I suppose," she continued.
When Louis quizzed: "You suppose," Cara confirmed their romantic relationship, responding: "No, I don't suppose. I know. Yeah."
She added: "We were close for a long time, and then when they were going through the divorce, yeah, we were entangled, I suppose.
"But she was also entangled with other people," Cara noted, referring to Amber's on-and-off relationship with Elon Musk from 2016 to 2018.
Amber and Johnny began dating in 2011 before they tied the knot in February 2015; however, after 15 months of marriage, Amber filed for divorce and a restraining order against Johnny in May 2016, alleging he was abusive towards her during their relationship.
While their divorce was finalized in 2017, they later became embroiled in a highly publicized defamation trial, in which Johnny sued Amber for $50 million following a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in which she said she was a "public figure representing domestic abuse."
While the piece did not identify Johnny by name, his attorneys said it "incalculably" damaged his career, costing him acting roles. She then countersued him for $100m.
The weeks-long trial began on April 11, 2022, in Fairfax, Virginia. Following the closing arguments on May 27, the jury began deliberating on the six weeks of testimony before being sent home for the Memorial Day holiday weekend.
The jurors faced a difficult task coming to a verdict, and in the closing arguments, Johnny's attorneys asked them to "give him his life back" after he claimed it had been "ruined" by Amber's allegations of domestic abuse.
In turn, the Aquaman actress's lawyers said that ruling in favor of Johnny would make jurors an "accomplice" to his abuse and "campaign of global humiliation." They also called him out for "laughing" during the trial.
Johnny was ultimately awarded $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million in punitive damages, which a judge capped in accordance with legal limits, resulting in a total of $10.35 million, after the jury said that Amber acted with "actual malice" in her accusations.
However, there was a partial win for Amber, as the jury awarded her $2 million after finding that Johnny had defamed her through his attorney.
Following the trial, Amber relocated to Madrid, Spain, with her daughter, Oonagh Paige, now five. She announced the arrival of her twins, a son named Ocean and a daughter named Agnes, on Mother's Day 2025.
