CSI: Crime Scene Investigation's George Eads just resurfaced years after stepping away from the spotlight. The beloved actor was spotted in a photo shared to social media with his ex-wife Monika Eads.
The former couple posed for a selfie shared with Monika's 21.2k Instagram followers in a post captioned: "June dump, but make it birthday flavored." George, 59, wore a black collared shirt with an army green baseball hat, while Monika, 47, wore a white, breezy long sleeved blouse.
The two, who are parents to their 11-year-old daughter Dylan, looked at ease with each other despite their relationship ending in a contentious divorce.
But, George's fans were excited to see him out and about again. A fan page for the actor reshared the photo on Instagram with the caption: "Monika just posted a few minutes ago, including this photo with George!" Many fans added their excitement of George's resurfacing with heart emojis.
Inside George and Monika Eads's divorce
George and Monika tied the knot in August 2011, two years after the actor revealed he was in a relationship on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson.
"I got engaged, actually, to a really nice girl," he said at the time, adding how after he underwent a back surgery, Monika helped nurse him back to health. "She really was my champion and helped me get through that."
But, four years after saying "I do," George filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences. The CSI star requested joint physical and legal custody of their daughter Dylan, while Monika asked for sole physical custody. Further contention rose after the two disagreed on their prenuptial agreement.
While the divorce proceedings were dramatic, they were finalized in 2015.
What is George Eads doing now?
George starred as Nick Stokes on the CBS police drama CSI: Crime Scene Investigation for 15 years alongside William Petersen, Marg Helgenberger, and Gary Dourdan. He appeared in an impressive 335 episodes of the series. But, the actor left the show in 2014 after reportedly getting into an altercation with a writer over creative issues.
"George Eads will not appear in several episodes during the first half of the season," CSI producer CBS TV Studios said in a statement at the time. "We look forward to him returning to CSI very soon."
Two years after exiting CSI, George starred as Jack Dalton in the reboot series MacGyver. But, while filming the series' third season in Atlanta, he asked to be released from his contract so he could spend more time with his daughter who lived in Los Angeles.
These days, George lives a private life as a dad, but his CSI fans can't wait for him to be back on screen.
