Richard Gere is back in New York, and back on set.

The actor, who recently returned to America after relocating to Spain with his family, was photographed in the Big Apple shooting his new age-gap romance, Asymmetry.

The star — who is married to Alejandra Silva — held hands with his co-star, Diana Silvers, 28, as they put on a loved up display for the cameras.

The pair looked happy as they animatedly chatted while walking through the streets of New York. At one point, they rehearsed between takes shot on the Upper West Side.

What is the movie Asymmetry about?

Richard plays a famous author in the adaptation of Lisa Halliday’s novel while Diana plays his much younger editor.

The synposis for the movie reads: "Their one moment of eye contact sparks a connection that leads them both down a life-changing rabbit hole, where they create a private world just for two.

In real life, Richard is in an age-gap romance of his own. His wife is 43, while he is 76.

Richard opened up up about his family life and marriage to Alejandra during a chat with HELLO! at a screening of his documentary Wisdom of Happiness.

When asked which daily activity provides him with a sense of calm, Richard said with a smile: "Kissing my wife. When she lets me, which isn’t all the time." Alejandra added: "Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Otherwise, it would be too easy, right?"
