Norah O'Donnell is making a career pivot – well, of sorts, at least.
The veteran CBS News anchor, 52, made a surprise announcement in 2025, revealing she was stepping down as the lead anchor of CBS Evening News after six years at the helm.
She has remained an integral part of the network's on-air team since, however, serving as a senior correspondent and a special contributor for 60 Minutes.
Norah O'Donnell's career pivot – her new podcast, Healthful
Now, she's announced that she's taking her talents off camera and starting a brand new podcast that's less about breaking news and more about women's health, a topic a lot more personal to her.
Norah's podcast Healthful, as part of CBS Ventures, will debut on July 22. "As a journalist I always say, 'Tell me something I don't know,' and we're really doing that with this podcast," she told Women's Health, emphasizing that it'll still include the same journalistic eye and reporting that her news anchor job does, albeit with a lot more personal content.
She continued: "I think I'm pretty well-read in the topic of health. Everybody in my family is a scientist…This was not on my radar." The journalist noted that the podcast will include several interviews with leading women's health experts, plus some of the tips that she was incorporating in her own life in her 50s.
Why Norah's "turning the tables" on herself
"I'm introducing women to the world's leading experts on all these things that we want to know more about at a time where we have all this access to information, and yet many of us are more confused than ever," Norah added.
One of the most personal segments of the podcast will be titled "Turning the Tables," in which the veteran anchor dives into her own wellness journey, and how it pertains to the topic at hand. "My producers love it, but I hate it because I don't like answering questions," she joked.

She then dove into her own life of eats and exercise, taking some tips from her trainer and podcast guest Kira Stokes. The mom-of-three shared that she does strength and mobility training two to three times a week, plus weekend tennis matches and 10-20 minute walks after dinner each night.
"It's so much band work," she quipped. "I also describe it as preventative training – so much of that work is so that I don't injure myself when I'm playing tennis."
As for her diet, mornings start with a smoothie, followed by a salad lunch and a protein with veggies for dinner. She'll try to be in bed by 9 PM so she can be up by the crack of dawn at 4:30 AM, to catch up on the news and ready herself for a day of work.
It's her smoothie that's probably the most interesting thing on the menu. "It has turmeric ice cubes and a little dash of black pepper because that helps bring out the curcumin in the turmeric. Also in there is frozen blueberries, frozen banana, frozen fresh pineapple, Fage Greek yogurt, a scoop of almond butter, a scoop of creatine, and almond milk. Sometimes I put mint in there too."
