See your favourite '90s sitcom stars now: The transformations of Patricia Richardson, Candace Cameron Bure, Fran Drescher and more

Patricia Richardson brought decade-defining laughs in sitcom Home Improvement, starring alongside the likes of Tim Allen and Richard Karn. The show ran between 1991 and 1999, making it a staple of the decade.

The Primetime Emmy nominee is still keeping busy in front of the camera, with recent credits including 2023 drama Chantilly Bridge, a guest appearance on Grey's Anatomy and a cameo opposite former co-star Tim Allen.

Ted Danson bookended the '90s with memorable roles in sitcoms Cheers (1982-1993) and Becker (1998-2004). 

The Three Men and a Baby star remains a beloved sitcom figure, carrying his comedy fame into the 21st century with NBC hit The Good Place. He's since starred in the comedy series A Man on the Inside and voice acted for PBS mini series Henry David Thoreau. 

Full House's Candace Cameron Bure appeared in all eight seasons of the beloved sitcom, working from 1987 into the mid-'90s. She starred as D.J. Tanner, the relatable oldest daughter of the principal sitcom family.

She returned to the franchise for Fuller House, appearing in 75 episodes. But her primary work now is for Great American Family in their series of cosy drama, the Ainsley McGregor Mysteries.

Sitcom success proved the key to mainstream fame for John Goodman, who starred in Roseanne as Dan Conner. Between 1988 and 1997, he brought the beloved sitcom patriarch to life and returned in 2018 for the series revival. 

The Primetime Emmy-winner continued his run with the franchise between 2018 and 2025 in spin-off The Conners, but has also kept his screen success going on The Righteous Gemstones and voice acting work on The Freak Brothers.

What would we do without Miss Fine? The Sheffield family would certainly have struggled, particularly single father Maxwell. Fortunately, Fran Drescher came to save the day as the nanny from Queens.

Since the 146-episode long sitcom rounded off in 1999, Fran has appeared on comedy sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues and Oscar-nominated feature Marty Supreme. 

John Stamos' Uncle Jesse loved Elvis and we loved Full House's Uncle Jesse. John starred on the sitcom between 1987 and 1995, complete with a series of leather jackets to fit his biker persona.

He's since appeared on the comedy hit My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2, returned to the '90s franchise that made him famous in Fuller House and appeared in mystery series The Hunting Wives.

In the '90s, Friends would always be there for you as a cosy TV treat. The tight-knit group of 20-somethings proved to viewers they could do life at their own pace, and that a chaotic career path or love life were unavoidable facts of life.

We'll always remember Lisa Kudrow as the free-spirited Phoebe Buffay, but she didn't disappear from our screens when Friends finished. The actress has since starred in three series of The Comeback, worked on Netflix hit No Good Deed and voice acted for animated animal sitcom HouseBroken. 

Everybody really did love Raymond, providing Ray Romano with a leading role between 1996 and 2005. Everybody Loves Raymond earned the actor three Primetime Emmy Awards and a place in the sitcom history books.

A new generation were introduced to the star's acting talent with animated classic Ice Age, casting Ray in the lead as grumpy mammoth Manny. Other recent credits include The Big Sick, The Irishman and Kate Hudson comedy series Running Point.
