It was a family affair for Matt Damon and his wife Luciana on Thursday as they treated their brood to a trip to Disneyland to celebrate their daughter Gia's 18th birthday.

The Odyssey star, 55, posed with his family in front of the Mickey Mouse pumpkin on Main Street ahead of the theme park's Halloween Time opening day, and they were all kitted out in honor of Gia's milestone day.

Matt, Luciana, and their daughters Alexia, 27, Isabella, 20, and Stella, 15, wore matching T-shirts that read "birthday crew."

Gia, meanwhile, stood out wearing a custom shirt featuring an outline of the park's Sleeping Beauty Castle, Mickey Mouse ears, and "birthday girl" emblazoned on the front.

However, the photo left many people on social media stunned by how empty the park looked, with some questioning whether Matt and his family had Disneyland all to themselves.

"Dang, did he run out the whole park?" one asked. A second said: "Did he get the whole park for his family rented out?!"

A third added: "Where r the crowds? Hello?!?" A fourth wrote: "Did he have to place to himself??"

It appears, however, that it was an early start for Matt and his family, as in a fan video shared on Instagram, he could later be seen walking through the park, which was filled with people.

Matt's two-week rule

Matt is very close with his family and has several rules to maintain their close bond. One is that "no matter what," he and his girls never spend more than two weeks apart.

"We established this two-week rule where no matter what, we're not apart more than two weeks," the Jason Bourne actor said on the Skip Intro podcast.

"When the kids were little and kind of portable, it was always a family adventure. We just went and set up camp wherever we were, and depending on the movie or the length of time, you know, we would finesse it, however, we would have to finesse it."

Matt has been busy on the promo trail for his latest film, The Odyssey, which he recently revealed will likely be his final foray into the world of blockbusters, something he's given considerable thought because of how much time he's had to spend away from his family.

"I think about it a lot, especially as my kids are getting older: really trying to be here now. And it's hard for me to do that. And I think maybe that has to do with my own nature," he told GQ.

"It also has to do with this career where you're always trying to figure out what's ahead because it's such an uncertain business and a pretty ruthless one. Those kinds of things have conspired to, I think, maybe take me out of where I am, more than I'd like."
