Matt Damon made headlines as the ultimate 'girl dad' earlier this month when he took to the bright lights of The Odyssey red carpet in London, flanked by his beautiful four daughters, whom he shares with his beautiful wife, Luciana.
But it seems that his title as Hollywood's best 'girl dad' is one he takes very seriously and maintains with one very strict rule at home.
Talking to Krista Smith on the Skip Intro podcast, Matt revealed that "no matter what", he and his girls Alexia, 27, Isabella, 20, Gia, 17, and Stella, 15, never spent more than two weeks apart.
"We established this two-week rule where no matter what, we're not apart more than two weeks," the Jason Bourne actor said.
"When the kids were little and kind of portable, it was always a family adventure. We just went and set up camp wherever we were, and depending on the movie or the length of time, you know, we would finesse it, however we would have to finesse it."
But this isn't the only non-negotiable rule Matt has when it comes to family.
"We have family dinner every night, and that's non-negotiable, and it's always been that way," the father of four told People.
Matt explained that despite their good intentions, even then it's hard to stay present. "One of my daughters said, 'Well, family dinner, last night we didn't talk.' And we realised, 'Oh my gosh, you're right,'" he revealed, noting: "We sat down for dinner, and you can get lost in that routine a little bit and not appreciate why you established the routine in the first place.
"That's the kind of family mindfulness we're all working on."
Girl dad at home, girl dad at work
Matt's 'girl dad' credentials aren't limited to behind the walls of his $34 million property portfolio; in fact, we have the evidence he is every inch as paternal over his stellar lineup of female castmates.
Stepping out at the New York premiere of The Odyssey, in a video shared by Variety, Matt was filmed, unprompted, capturing a sweet candid moment of Zendaya, Lupita Nyong'o, Anne Hathaway, Samantha Morton and Charlize Theron.
The actresses were all chatting with their arms around one another when Matt got out his phone, sweetly capturing the candid moment.
"Stop. This is the cutest thing!!!" one fan penned in the caption. A second added: "Matt Damon, the ultimate girl dad." Meanwhile, a third penned: "Girl dad energy in real life and with castmembers."
