Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. are selling their family home. The famous couple first listed their Brentwood home in May 2026 for $10.5 million. And on Monday, August 24, Sarah and Freddie slashed the price.
The I Know What You Did Last Summer actors lowered the price of their family home by $500k to $9.95, per property records. This decision comes a year after they listed the home for rent for $60,000 a month.
Sarah, 49, and Freddie, 50, bought the 7,318 square foot mansion in 2013 for $6.1 million, just a year after they welcomed their son Rocky James Prinze. Let's take a look inside Sarah and Freddie's multimillion property they are looking to sell.
Sarah and Freddie live in Mandeville Canyon
The actors' home is located in Brentwood near Mandeville Canyon and the Santa Monica Mountain, giving the family access to hiking trails and beautiful nature. Like many of their celebrity friends, Sarah and Freddie have enjoyed their life in the Brentwood neighborhood of Los Angeles.
The home is over 7,000 square feet
For 13 years, the couple lived in the mansion with six bedrooms and six bedrooms with son Rocky, 13, and daughter Charlotte, 16. Inspired by the Hamptons, the home features an elevated interior with bright and open living spaces.
The massive kitchen and large bedrooms have provided a perfect place for Rocky and Charlotte to grow up. And outside, Sarah and Freddie spend time in their pool and in-ground hot tub, which are kept private by curated hedges.
Sarah's love of owning a home
For Sarah, home is where the heart is. The actress grew up in New York City and understands the importance of owning a home. "Being responsible for a house – especially for me, who grew up in an apartment building that had a maintenance person – you don't realize how overwhelming it really is," she told People in October 2023.
Almost 30 years after she bought her first house, the Buffy the Vampire actress worked hard to make the home a relaxing oasis for her and her family. She created a spa-like bathroom and a calming primary bedroom.
"Initially, it's just the excitement," she recalled about buying her first house at 20. "The idea that I have a home that is mine and that when you close those doors, that's your sanctuary, that's your peace away from everything."
No matter where Sarah, Freddie, Charlotte, and Rocky land after they sell their Brentwood home, their home is wherever they are. As for the Brentwood mansion, Sarah may not miss it. "Houses, they have noises all on their own. I think I hear my kids walking in the hallways at night, and I'll go out to go catch them and see which one of them it is, but there's never anyone there," she told People.
