It's been three years since the passing of Sandra Bullock's longtime partner Bryan Randall. The couple were together from 2015 until his death in 2023 from ALS.
For the first time since, the actress, 62, has opened up about the tragedy during the Practical Magic 2 promotional cycle, detailing his years-long battle with the disease, how it affected her and her two kids, and how they've managed to cope with their grief since.
© AlamyIn a new interview with Kylie Kelce on her podcast Not Gonna Lie, Sandra opened up more candidly about life back on the market once again, especially how her daughter Laila feels about it.
The Speed star is a mom to son Louis, 16, and daughter Laila, 13, and explained on the podcast how different they really are, saying of her son: "He's like a 78-year-old wise man inside a 16-year-old basketball player's body."
She praised his "spot on" judgment and even said she looks at situations going: "What would Louis do right now?" Her daughter Laila, on the other hand, is "brutal," the actress hilariously revealed, when it comes to her honest takes.
Sandra recalled one particular instance in which she was on a Zoom and Laila walks by and just goes: "You know you can put a filter on that? You know you can make yourself look better."
She continued: "Again, the honesty…I appreciate," explaining that Laila at one point also told her: "She said I needed to date, but only, someone where they can get stuff," and when the mom-of-two responded: "What? A rapper? A basketball player? That's the parameters? What is it? And she's like, 'Yeah.'"
© InstagramKylie praised the teen for delivering her verdict with "harsh honesty," with Sandra endearingly adding: "She's taking care of mom." She also called being a mom "everything" to her, especially when it comes to balancing her work with parenting.
"My job is great, I didn't expect to be doing it this long because, when I started, nobody did the job this long. My kids are my everything, so if it doesn't work for them, with my time with them, then I'm not doing it," Sandra continued.
She recently also confirmed to Access Hollywood that both Louis and Laila have cameos in the Practical Magic sequel, although they don't actually know where they are, and neither will the audience.
© Instagram"They're in the movie, but not in an obvious way to you," Sandra joked to the outlet at the fantasy romance's Los Angeles premiere, adding: "I can't wait to show them where it is, they don't know where it is."
She then took to gushing about how "unbelievably proud" she was of them. "And what's amazing is that something happens when you have kids, where you stop being the influence on them and they become the influence on you."
