Kylie Jenner has just jumped on the Reformer Pilates hype – and, by the looks of it, the workout is delivering her sculpted results.
The beauty mogul took to her Instagram Stories on September 4 to share a glimpse inside her fitness routine. The photo captured Kylie straddling a Reformer bed located in the ALO gym as she posed for a mirror selfie. The star wore a black sports bra with a pair of matching, high-waisted capri pants. Her luscious locks were left down in soft waves and she opted for a makeup-free complexion.
"Waiting for my friends @haileybieber @laurenperez," Kylie penned alongside the image.
Kylie's choice of gym comes as no surprise considering she was recently announced as ALO's newest ambassador. "Some of the most meaningful parts of my life happen when no one's watching. Those moments of stillness are what help me feel grounded and present, and I've learned to protect them. That’s what I love about this campaign – it reminds us that taking care of yourself starts with making space for the things that are yours alone," said Kylie in the campaign video.
The star previously collaborated with ALO for a Pilates voyage aboard a yacht in Sardinia back in June. The 29-year-old wore the signature Airlift Intrigue Bra that, according to the brand, has "a supportive, snug fit that’s ready for everything from HIIT to headstands." The top was styled with the matching 3" Softsculpt Low-Rise Foldover Short, which are crafted from their "signature medium-compression fabric" to "sculpt and smooth while allowing you the freedom to move."
Reformer Pilates is the perfect workout routine for Kylie as she enjoys combining high-intensity exercises with strength training and pilates. Reformer Pilates uses an apparatus made up of pulleys and springs to work the body, using the resistance of the springs to feel the burn.
"Reformer Pilates often involves many of the same stretches as mat Pilates, but the beauty of the reformer is that it helps you to get more out of your workout and target particular areas of the body," Martyn Oakley, head of fitness at Everlast Gyms, previously explained to HELLO!
The reformer apparatus was designed by Joseph Pilates and consists of a rectangular, bed-like frame with a padded platform on runners known as a carriage (think a rowing machine mixed with a bed). At one end of the bed are the foot bar and springs which can be tightened to increase the resistance of the exercise. At the opposite end are two ropes with handles attached to pulleys which can be used by either hands or feet.
As for her diet, in an interview with Harper's Bazaar, Kylie revealed that she preferred to start her day with a meal of bone broth, celery juice, a vanilla iced latte and tea. She is also a fan of snacking and loves In-N-Out Burger. She avoids late-night cravings by snacking on apple slices before bed, and likes to research workouts "on the floor of my bedroom" rather than go to the gym.
