Dua Lipa just proved that she remains the undisputed queen of chic, sheer dressing. The singer took to Instagram on September 8 to show off her sultry vacation look that put a feather spin of the naked dress trend.
The 31-year-old posed in her hotel room in a black sheer dress that was adorned with stylish ruched detailing. The sleeveless garment, which featured a high neckline, was layered over a lace bra and simple black brief. Dua added a feathered boa round her neck for a playful twist. The star's luscious locks were styled into long, mermaid waves while her makeup was left natural and radiant, courtesy of a rosy cheek and a berry-hued lip.
"Everyone left the city for Labour Day... so naturally I observed the holiday too," penned Dua in the caption.
The scene-stealing look is part of the larger underwear-as-outerwear trend that continues to blur the line between lingerie and evening wear. At its core, the naked dress trend is defined by its barely-there materials, sheer mesh, metallic knits, chainmail, lace, and airy organza all play a part in its ethereal appeal.
Dua has never shied away from a daring, opaque number. Who could forget when she graced the premiere of Rosebush Pruning at the Berlinale Film Festival. The singer wore a custom Chanel off-the-shoulder gown that was crafted from black sheer knit. The dress featured a figure-hugging silhouette that was adorned with feather detailing above the hemline.
Dua Lipa's secret to her toned figure is her workout routine
Dua's sculpted physique is courtesy of her disciplined fitness regime. "I think different variations of crunches like bicycle crunches are good," she previously told Viva. "Leg raises are also great unless my back hurts. Planks are good, although almost certainly my least favourite!" Dua typically begins her morning with some form of exercise.
"I try and work out as much as I can," she added. "I love doing something that's really fast and quick, like a 15-minute HIIT session which I can do before I start my day. If I've got a really early call time, I don't want to be waking up hours before I need to go and do a workout. So [I do] a high-intensity workout, shower, breakfast, and I'm on my way."
Dua also enjoys blending high intensity workouts and weight training with low-impact routines. "When I have a tiny bit more time on my side I love mixing up lots of different training, finding different workouts in whatever city I'm in, whether it's yoga, Pilates, boxing or spinning," she told Marie Claire.
