Busy Philipps has reason to celebrate after sharing a new health update, six months after she had brain surgery to remove a rare tumour.
The Dawson's Creek alum, 47, revealed in August that she was diagnosed with a grade 2 oligodendroglioma, a rare slow-growing tumor, but a recent MRI scan yielded positive results.
"Guys, I got my six-month scan, MRI, and it was no sign of the tumor," she said in an Instagram video shared on Tuesday, September 8.
However, while there were "no signs of tumor progression," the MRI did find something else.
"However, I do have a sinus infection in my left sphenoid sinus, which also makes sense because my eye has been red, my left eye, for the past week, and if you are somebody who has followed me for a really long time, you know those sinuses, honey, they have been out to get me since day one!" Busy continued.
She revealed that she was "going to the sinus doctor tomorrow morning to see what we've got to do," but added that she is no stranger to sinus surgery, having undergone the procedure in 2018.

"But yeah, this is not great. It's painful, it looks painful, and it is painful. I thought it was eczema.
"I don't know what the hell is going on," she added. "But no tumor, so I guess I'll take a sinus infection over a brain tumor, any day!"

Her update comes just days after she marked six months since her surgery, sharing on Instagram on September 3: "YESTERDAY WAS 6 MONTHS SINCE MY BRAIN SURGERY REMOVED THAT TUMOR FROM MY BRAIN!”
Busy accompanied the post with a selfie of her in a hospital gown during a mammogram, adding: "Well guess what? My mammogram was all clear too! Woo!"

While her initial appointment for the scan was scheduled for January, it was pushed to February due to the blizzards that hit New York City. And in the lead-up to it, her Dawson's Creek co-star and friend James Van Der Beek died, plus she was slated to fly out to meet with her family and then the showrunners for the CBS show Cupertino.
"I'm grateful that I'm alive," she told People in August. "I was hyperventilating and trying to breathe," she added about the moment her doctor revealed her diagnosis.
© Getty ImagesBecause the tumor was caught early, Busy didn't require chemotherapy or radiation and underwent successful surgery to remove it in March.
However, she required a second surgery in April after developing staphylococcus, an infection at the incision site in her skull. "The second surgery really threw me," she said. "I just felt like I was back to square one, and I was really, really upset."
