Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager share a close relationship on and off the Today Show screen. That is exactly why the pair are able to be brutally honest with one another – and during the September 16 episode, Sheinelle called out her co-star for her "intense" personality.
The topic arose as the pair discussed Tom Cruise's new GQ Magazine cover story. "They say he's intense," Sheinelle said about the actor, to which Jenna agreed that "everyone" thinks the actor is "intense."
Sheinelle then asked her co-host where she thinks she is intense herself. "Well, do you think I'm intense?" replied Jenna. Sheinelle then looked directly into the camera to indicate that she does in fact think her co-star is a little "intense".
© NBC"Here's the thing, sometimes, not all, sometimes, yes, I am [intense]," admitted Jenna. "Do you know what I think? I think that even when you're not intense, you're intense in an intense way," said Sheinelle.
Sheinelle then shared that her late husband, Oche Ojeh, was also similar to Jenna. "That's why he was so good at everything. If we're on a dance floor, you're not just dancing, you're smacking and rubbing it down... so, if we are having a good time, you're the best time, you see what I mean?" Jones continued.
© Getty ImagesThe pair then recalled the first time they met and how they went to a rooftop bag together, a memory they described as "intense". "It started for lunch, and it ended up with Dylan [Dreyer] falling off the curb, but it was so much fun, so Jenna is a good time. But then, when it's time to be a boss and produce a show or launch a book club, you do it," Sheinelle said about her co-host.
However, Jenna admitted that she thinks the word "intense" has "negative connotations," especially for women. "I do like getting things done, I like that feeling, but I do wish I could rest a little more," she shared. "I think you should embrace it, I think it's an awesome trait and it makes you who you are," replied Sheinelle.
