Nicole Kidman offered her fans a glimpse into the behind-the-scenes of her time in Paris during fashion month – and it seems she's been experimenting with daring after-dark dressing.
The actress took to Instagram on October 8 to share a carousel of photographs from her time in the French capital. The first snap captured Nicole posing on her hotel balcony in a sultry ensemble. The 59-year-old wore a silky negligee that was trimmed with delicate lace embroidery on the hem and bust. Her luscious locks were swept back into an updo and she was bathed in soft pink lighting.
"Pink lights in honor of #BreastCancerAwareness Month. Thank you for everything, @ThePeninsulaParis," she penned in the caption.
Nicole's dress is an example of the underwear-as-outerwear trend that has peppered the runway during recent fashion seasons. Negligees, often sheer or silky interpretations of women's night gowns or slip dresses, have become the go-to staple for dinner dates by today's It-girls.
Romantic slip dresses are nothing new to the fashion sphere, They were championed during the spring/summer 2024 shows, with the likes of Coperni, Gucci and Versace all embracing iterations of the whimsical négligée. With delicate mesh, sumptuous silk, intricate lace, and flirtatious hems, the look elevates chic eveningwear with a daring twist.
Nicole Kidman and Chanel
Nicole was in Paris to attend Chanel's spring/summer 2027show at Grand Palais. For the occasion, she donned a gray knit peacoat dress courtesy of the maison. The tweed garment boasted an oversized silhouette with gold button adornments and wide shoulders. She styled the look with opaque black tights and pointed-toe black pumps.
The star's attendance at the Chanel show is hardly surprising given her significant role with the brand. Back in October, Nicole shared that she would be returning to Chanel as an ambassador following the debut of Matthieu Blazy as the house's new creative director.
"I am thrilled to be joining Chanel as it begins its new chapter with Matthieu at the helm," she said at the time. "As someone who has such an appreciation for Haute Couture, I am so looking forward to witnessing Matthieu’s vision for the oldest Haute Couture House still in operation and having the opportunity to wear what I know will be gorgeous creations."
She continued: "Chanel has always been ahead of the curve, shining a smart and gracious light on women, and I am sure Matthieu will be no exception, just like Karl [Lagerfeld] did in his time." Matthieu was equally enthusiastic about the partnership with Nicole, saying: "From the unforgettable Baz Luhrmann film to her countless red carpet looks, Nicole has always been part of the history of the House. Having worked with Nicole in the past and now reuniting with her at Chanel is a dream come true and couldn’t make me happier."
