Scarlett Johansson made a showstopping appearance at the BFI London Film Festival on Saturday, October 10, turning heads in a striking red gown that revealed her elaborate back tattoos.
The 41-year-old actress looked sensational as she joined her Paper Tiger co-star Adam Driver on the red carpet at London's Royal Festival Hall, where the pair posed for photographs ahead of the screening.
Scarlett opted for a vibrant scarlet floor-length gown featuring delicate shoulder straps, a softly draped neckline and a figure-skimming silhouette that flowed into an elegant skirt.
The Hollywood star accessorized with a statement gold necklace featuring a green gemstone, while her blonde bob was styled in a sleek, side-parted blowout.
However, it was the back of Scarlett's dress that really caught the eye, revealing her extensive collection of tattoos, including an intricate arrangement of roses and a delicate lamb.
The black-and-grey floral design stretches across her upper back, with several large roses connected by twisting stems and leaves, while a smaller lamb sits beneath the flowers.
Although Scarlett has never publicly confirmed the significance of the elaborate design, the roses are widely believed to be a touching tribute to her daughter, Rose Dorothy Dauriac, whom she shares with her former husband, French journalist Romain Dauriac.
The actress first attracted widespread attention for the large floral tattoo in 2018, when she revealed it at the Met Gala.
The artwork was created by celebrity tattoo artist Josh Lord, who has also worked with several of her Avengers co-stars.
Scarlett has a number of other tattoos, including a delicate bracelet design featuring the words "I ♥ NY" around her wrist, a colorful sunrise on her forearm and a horseshoe with the words "Lucky You" on her ribcage.
She also shares a matching Avengers-inspired tattoo with Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner, commemorating their time in the Marvel franchise.
Scarlett appeared in high spirits as she reunited with Adam, who looked dapper in an all-black suit, matching shirt and tie.
The actors previously starred opposite one another in the critically acclaimed 2019 drama Marriage Story, which earned both stars Academy Award nominations.
