Jennifer Lopez brought plenty of drama to her night at the opera, arriving in a plunging black gown and an extravagant, fur-trimmed coat.
The 57-year-old singer and actress attended the Los Angeles Opera's opening-night celebrations on Saturday, 17 October, wearing an ensemble that combined delicate sheer fabric with lavish embroidery.
Her strapless dress featured a deeply plunging neckline and a sheer lower skirt, while her statement coat added oversized brown trim, colourful floral embellishments and flashes of pale turquoise lining. Black fringe provided another eye-catching detail as she posed.
Jennifer Lopez's dramatic opera look
Jennifer completed her outfit with black heels and a small black clutch, allowing the richly decorated outerwear to take centre stage.
A sparkling, vine-like necklace followed the neckline of her dress, accompanied by glittering earrings. Her hair was swept into a low updo, with softly parted strands framing her face and warm, luminous make-up completing the look.
Stylist Mariel Haenn revealed on Instagram that Jennifer had drawn from her own wardrobe for the occasion, wearing her personal Dolce & Gabbana Alta Moda pieces and jewellery.
Jennifer also shared photographs with her followers, keeping her caption simple: "Night Out."
The evening celebrated the opening of Bizet's Carmen at the Dorothy Chandler Pavilion. The production launched LA Opera's 2026/27 season and marked Domingo Hindoyan's first performances as the company's new music director.
Jennifer Lopez's latest fashion appearances
The opera outing follows a busy stretch of fashion appearances for Jennifer, who walked in Vogue World: Milano in September wearing Dolce & Gabbana.
She continued the Italian fashion connection earlier this month, sharing a video on 11 October that teased another project with the house.
In the clip, Jennifer wore a long black trench coat and dark, voluminous curls while walking through Milan at night. The styling offered a different look from the swept-back hair and ornate eveningwear she chose for the opera.
Jennifer Lopez prepares for The JLO Show
Away from fashion, Jennifer has another major date approaching. Her concert film, The JLO Show: Live in Las Vegas, will premiere on CBS and Paramount+ on Thanksgiving evening, Thursday, 26 November, with an extended version available exclusively on Paramount+.
The special captures the final performance of her residency at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace, which concluded on 28 March after 12 sold-out shows.
Featuring an orchestra, a vocal ensemble and 16 dancers, the production combines personal storytelling with songs including "Jenny from the Block", "Waiting for Tonight" and "Let's Get Loud". Its holiday broadcast also reflects a Lopez family tradition of gathering to watch movie musicals at Thanksgiving.
Jennifer recently hinted that there was more for her followers to look forward to, writing on Instagram: "I cannot wait for you to experience all the exciting things coming in the next couple of weeks."
