When it comes to ruling the roost of the Kardashian household, North West might actually take the cake.
The teen rapper's mom Kim Kardashian shed some light on her transformation into North for Halloween, revealing whose idea it was – and how it all shook out.
Speaking with Entertainment Tonight at the All's Fair New York City premiere, Kim, 46, explained that dressing up as North for Halloween was in fact the teen's own idea.
"I thought I was killing it, and I was fully ready," the mom-of-four continued. "And then I go in the other room, and I'm like, 'I'm ready!'"
The 13-year-old, however, immediately went "no, no, no," and started critiquing her mom's outfit choices. "Wrong shirt! I would never wear that skirt. Where did you get those lashes? No, no, no," Kim quipped of her daughter's reaction.
"So she redid it for me, and made it amazing and perfect," Kim explained. Fans on social media complimented North's direct approach and praised the candid mother-daughter bond between them.
"Honestly I love how she loves North," one fan commented online, with another saying: "If I had a daughter I'd want one like North, I love how confident she is at such a young age, it's rare," and a third adding: "Say what you want about Kim but her daughter is going to have the best memories and stories to tell her own kids about her."
The teen's style has become her signature in recent years, evident in not only her public sightings but also her musical work, inspired by her father Kanye West. Her blue twin pigtails, though, are directly derived from Japanese virtual pop star Hatsune Miku.
"Everyone's in love with boys, vaping and doing all kinds of bad stuff. All I want is blue hair and piercings," she told Dazed of her style, calling Hatsune Miku "just my twin for real."
"Her blue twin tails, of course," the teen added of what she most pulls from the holographic J-pop idol. "That's always the inspo. Blue hair or nothing? Maybe I'll do black in it one day," although when it comes to sources for her style moodboard, she's a lot more flexible. "Everybody I listen to. Everybody I like. I take little bits of their swag and just make my own swag out of it."
While she had more of a tough love approach to her mom's styling choices, she's explained that she's open to exploring any style. "I'd wear anything. A few weeks ago, I'd be like, 'Oh hell no!' But now, after today, I'd wear anything for real. I like to try new things. But I do like to have my own style. It's just easy."
And social media is where she pulls references from most often. "I be using TikTok and Pinterest. I like to make moodboards for my nails and my hair. But also I just be making it up; I gotta draw it too, 'cause there's nothing on Pinterest. I can't find what I really want for real."
