Alexa Ray Joel knows how to make an entrance, and her striking leopard print look certainly deserves a second glance.

The daughter of Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley brought a touch of old Hollywood glamour to Instagram, posing in a plunging halterneck bodysuit with a sweetheart neckline.

Her statement ensemble featured a fitted waist, which she accentuated with a glittering gold belt and an ornate buckle. Sparkling hoop earrings added another glamorous detail.

Alexa swept her long brunette hair into a voluminous half-up style, leaving loose curls tumbling over one shoulder and soft strands framing her face. Dramatic winged eyeliner and rosy lipstick completed the look.

Posing beside an intricately carved doorway, the singer raised one arm above her head and rested the other behind her waist.

Alexa Ray Joel on finding confidence

While Alexa looked completely at ease in front of the camera, she has been candid about the journey behind her confidence.

In her official biography, the musician reflects on the criticism she experienced when she was younger, explaining how it helped her relate to women struggling with their own self-esteem.

"I didn’t really grow into myself, or feel remotely good about myself, until my late 20s," she said.

Alongside her glamorous appearances, Alexa has continued developing her music career. Her recent releases include "Riverside Way," the '60s-inspired "Heavy Eyes" and "Only Just A Moment," which draws on an emotionally difficult romantic experience.

Her performances at New York's Café Carlyle have also combined her original songs with Broadway favorites and musical nods to her father and Ray Charles.

Alexa Ray Joel's childhood with Billy Joel and Christie Brinkley

Despite having two world-famous parents, Alexa has described a childhood that revolved around family time and the outdoors.

Speaking to Spotlight Magazine in July 2026, she recalled growing up primarily on Long Island, spending time on boats and enjoying a life away from Hollywood.

"My parents were incredibly down-to-earth, despite their fame," she said.

Alexa also reflected on how much Billy and Christie's friendship following their divorce means to her. One particularly treasured memory involved performing at Madison Square Garden, where her mother helped with her hair and makeup and her father took to the stage.

Afterward, the family posed for photographs backstage, giving Alexa a moment with both parents that she continues to cherish.

Billy Joel's support for daughter Alexa Ray's music

Alexa celebrated her father's musical legacy at a Carnegie Hall tribute in March 2026, performing his song "This Night."

She later revealed that Billy sent her a heartfelt letter thanking her and explaining how much the evening had meant to him.

While his work has influenced her, Alexa has also spoken about the freedom he gives her to develop her own sound.

In a June interview with Spark Hamptons, she explained that Billy encourages her to trust her instincts, allowing her to shape her music before seeking his feedback.

"He's very non-egotistical about wanting to see my creative process bloom and prosper on its own. He's just very supportive. It's really great."
