Breaking Bad star Dean Norris has quietly split from his wife of more than two decades, Bridget Norris, amid reported financial struggles related to their restaurant.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Bridget filed for divorce on February 14, 2025, 24 years after their wedding in 2001, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for their split.
She listed January 15, 2025, as their separation date, and requested joint physical and legal custody of their two youngest children, Zoe, 17, and Dean Jr., 16. They also share three adult children.
Bridget asked for spousal support in her filing, and for the court to decide how any property or assets should be split. Their divorce does not appear to be finalized.
Dean Norris' financial troubles
On top of their ongoing divorce, Dean and Bridget filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in September, asking to restructure their debts to keep the doors of their restaurant open. The couple bought the Swing Inn Café in Temecula, California, in 2022 for a reported $1.3 million, and have enjoyed moderate success with the eatery.
However, in their filing, Dean and Bridget claimed that their company has $147,809.58 in assets but $1,811,598.46 in liabilities. The café is a staple in Temecula, having first opened in 1927. Dean and Bridget transformed the place into a barbecue spot that also serves breakfast.
Inside Dean Norris' Hollywood career
Dean has been working steadily in Hollywood for decades, with notable roles in Total Recall, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Claws and Under the Dome. He is best known for starring as DEA agent Hank Schrader in Breaking Bad from 2008 to 2013, and he reprised the role in the spinoff series Better Call Saul.
Dean, who rarely speaks about his private life, previously told USA Today that he was happy to take on as many roles as possible to pay the bills for his large family.
"I never had a month or so go by where I haven't had a job, but you always worry that someone will turn off the tap," he told the outlet.
"The way I look at it, I'm a guy who acts to live. You can always have a job if you can play shoot-'em-up stuff. If playing cops pays the bills, that's what I need to do to support my family."
Saying goodbye to RJ Mitte
Dean has weathered several hardships in recent years, including the death of his Breaking Bad co-star, RJ Mitte, who passed away on October 12, 2026, at the age of 34. RJ portrayed Walter White Jr. on the hit series and was mourned by several of his co-stars, including Dean.
"Oh my God! Was working just found out about RJ I am heartbroken," the father of five wrote on Instagram. "Though RJ didn't play my TV son, I always looked out for him as a young kid on set. He was a sweetheart of a young man and will be greatly missed. This is so heartbreaking, I can't believe it. Thinking of him and his family."
