This Morning's Holly Willoughby took to Instagram on Sunday to share a worrying health update.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, the beloved TV presenter penned a message which read: "Hi… Just to let you know I may be away for the rest of the week as I have shingles [sad emoji]… I'll be back as soon as I'm better."

She finished by adding: "Huge Love, Holly xxx."

According to the NHS website: "Shingles is an infection that causes a painful rash." Symptoms of the infection include generally feeling under the weather in addition to an uncomfortable or painful rash.

How long does shingles last?

Initially appearing as red blotches on the skin, shingles tends to appear on only one side of the body. The effects of the illness can take up to four weeks to heal, but it is not contagious.

It's caused by a reactivation of the varicella-zoster virus, which causes chickenpox. While shingles isn't contagious, it can spread chicken pox, so avoiding pregnant people, babies and those with weakened immune systems is advised.

The presenter recently took some time off as part of her usual Easter break. Whilst we don't know what the star got up to, we imagine she spent some much-needed quality time at home with her husband Daniel Baldwin and their three children: Belle, 11, Harry, 13, and Chester, eight.

The Wylde Moon founder and her family live in a stunning £3million mansion in South West London complete with lavish interiors, a state-of-the-art kitchen and six luxurious bedrooms.

Holly's anticipated absence from the show comes after her co-star Phillip Schofield took some time out of the spotlight. Prior to the Easter holidays, Holly was joined by Alison Hammond and Joel Dommett who filled in for Phillip amid his brother Tim Schofield's trial.

Earlier this month, Phillip took to social media to share a statement after his brother Timothy was found guilty of child sexual abuse offences. Taking to Instagram, Phillip penned: "Statement about the conviction of Timothy Schofield: My overwhelming concern is and has always been for the wellbeing of the victim and his family. I hope that their privacy will now be respected."
