There is no doubt Britain’s Got Talent judge Amanda Holden, 52, has the Midas touch, and now even her clothes have turned into gold. Just days after Amanda delighted fans with poolside pictures from her Easter break in LA with her Heart Radio co-star Ashley Roberts, the 52-year-old donned a dress for the latest BGT promo so golden, it can only be described as "blinding".

Ahead of the new series airing on Saturday on ITV, Amanda was joined in the aureate snaps by fellow BGT judges Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon and show newbie, ex-Strictly Come Dancing judge Bruno Tonioli

In a sartorial riff on the show’s famed golden buzzer, Alesha opted for a pair of oversized geometric gold earrings, and Bruno a baroque gilded jacket. Amanda, on the other hand, eschewed a hint of gold in favour of a full blast in the shape of a corseted metallic gold and black dress.

Posing with her hair slicked back, hand on hip and one seemingly never-ending bare leg visible via the thigh-high split, Amanda’s golden look was completed by a pair of gold high heels and a matching necklace.

The glittering assemblage caught the eye of fans on social media who were amused that the top of the outfit reflected a distorted version of Amanda’s nose and chin. One posted “HELP!” accompanied by a close-up of the reflection, while another wrote, “Actual laughing out loud.”

Yet a minor wardrobe blunder isn’t enough to dim Amanda’s sparkle. This sparkle was out in full force back in February when she celebrated her 52nd birthday in Dubai – appropriately known as the city of gold.

At the time fans were amazed by her youthful looks, a Peter Pan quality which can be attributed both to her rigorous health and fitness regime and her incredible nose for fashion. In this video, you can find out her five cardinal style lessons.

Amanda to coach coronation choir

Britain’s Got Talent isn’t the only programme Amanda will soon be seen on with a link to gold. On Monday she was announced as part of the celebrity coaching line-up on the one-off BBC documentary Sing For The King: The Search For The Coronation Choir. The link to gold? Well, whilst King Charles has rowed back on the pomp and circumstance for his coronation, it won't be short of golden items – or moments!

Sing For The King will explore how the 300 singers were brought together from diverse backgrounds to perform at the coronation at Windsor Castle in May. Mentoring the singers alongside Amanda will be choirmaster Gareth Malone, Strictly Come Dancing judge Oti Mabuse, and actress Rose Ayling-Ellis. The four celebrities will draw on “their individual areas of expertise” to “challenge and inspire the choirs to give a pitch-perfect performance”, said the BBC in a statement.

The Coronation Choir’s final group includes among others an all-deaf sign performance organisation, a traditional male voice choir from Caerphilly, Wales, Yorkshire’s only female South Asian choir, the London Fire Brigade and a troupe of RNLI sea shanty singers from Portishead, Somerset.

Amanda – who is mentoring the Welsh singers made her love of choirs clear when she revealed her hopes for the next series of BGT. "I really want a choir to win this year," she said. "There’s a men’s choir which are just brilliant. I enjoyed the fact that they were a group of men who were coming on for a good singsong."
