It may be the Queen's Golden Jubilee year, but when it comes to celebrating, nothing could compare to the lavish and stylish send-off hosted by David and Victoria Beckham for the England World Cup squad and famous guests.

Sealing their position as Britain's celebrity royalty, the handsome couple's spectacular party was attended by every big name worth their salt, dressed to thrill, as requested, in glamorous "white tie and diamonds".

The diamonds that really told a story were those worn by the World Cup manager Sven Goran Eriksson's partner Nancy Dell'Olio, who looked exquisite in a turquoise beaded gown from New York designer Randolph Duke. Asked whether they were gifts from Sven, the woman who recently fought off love rival Ulrika Jonsson said: "Most definitely – Sven's given me many presents."
