Croatian chic has arrived. And it's the country's islands like flawless Adriatic beauty Korcula seducing the world's fashion elite. Here the Duchess of Cambridge's much loved designer Issa made a little piece of history this summer, offering up her precious threads to headline the very first collective international pop-up boutique.

"Croatia’s evolving fashion industry makes this pop-up shop a very exciting initiative," said Issa's Brazilian founder Daniella Helayel. "The Croatian coastline is such a beautiful location, the harmony of nature and architecture mirrors many of my inspirations." The London-based designer aims to embrace women's femininity by creating dresses which not only look wonderful but also make them feel their best so it's no wonder Kate opted for one of her designs for such a poignant occasion as her engagement announcement.

The fashion extravaganza took place in the glorious surroundings of Lesic Dimitri Palace hotel, a restored 18th century haven that proudly reigns as Korcula's five star tsar. Intriguingly, it's not the Palace's sprawling medieval cottage suites whose designs are inspired by the exotic destinations on explorer Marco Polo's Silk Road route that set it apart.Instead, it's their determination to put on a cultural show for their guests as well as provide them with stunning shelter.

After the success of its high profile fashion destination story, the hotel is now straight onto the next sophisticated offering the Korkyra Baroque Festival, September 7-16.

For ten days, Baroque music's international titans will descend on Korcula to perform their modern interpretations in the island's ethereal cathedrals.

Lesic Dimitri's manager Toni Lozica an imposing baritone opera singer when he isn't nurturing his guests has been crucial in the organisation of the event.
