Andy Murray reveals how his wedding day will play out

As the minutes tick away until Andy Murray and Kim Sears tie the knot, the tennis star has been reflecting on the momentous occasion ahead. The 27-year-old groom-to-be shared an amusing post on Twitter, showing the stages of his wedding day using a host of emojis.

The collection of cartoon images began with a reference to the somewhat unpleasant rainy weather in Dunblane, where the duo will say "I do", and moved on to the beauty preparations bride Kim will be making to ensure she looks her very best on her special day.

Andy went on to refer to the couple signing the marriage register, having their photos taken and then heading on their reception venue for dinner and a celebratory party.

Some of the former Wimbledon champion's took the enthusiastic tweet as a sign that he was feeling a flurry of emotions as he prepared to walk down the aisle, with one Twitter user writing "Last-minute nerves?" and another reminding him: "Don't forget the ring!"

Andy's social media description of his nuptials reflects how the big day will pan out for real. With their fingers crossed the suns shines, Andy and Kim will tie the knot at Dunblane Cathedral and then travel to the Cromlix House Hotel for their reception.

Andy and Kim will become husband and wife on 11 April

The newlyweds and their guests will sit down for a lavish dinner masterminded by none other than Michel Roux Jr and his father Albert Roux. While Andy previously said that he has left much of the planning and aesthetic design down to his artistic other half Kim, he has admitted he took a keen interest in ensuring the food and cake would be spot on.

"The one thing that I really wanted to do was be involved with the food," he told Rolling Stone magazine. "Because I like my food, I like good food. I went along and did the food tasting and I also did the cake tasting as well. So that would be the thing that I would say I have been most involved in."
