Few marriages in the entertainment industry come around quite like Tim McGraw and Faith Hill's.

The country music superstars recently celebrated 30 years of marriage. And they'll also be stepping into a new decade of life together too, with Tim turning 60 in May and Faith in September.

Shortly before then, the pair also saw their middle daughter Maggie McGraw get engaged, and between all those changes, plus the potential now for grandchildren, they're looking at this phase of life as a brand new "chapter" of sorts.

"There's so many changes in life that happen throughout a lifetime in a marriage and a family," Tim mused during a recent appearance on Esquire's What I've Learned podcast. "There's so many changes. Next year, [Faith and I will] both be 60. We've been married for 30 years. We've lived a lot of life."

"Sooner or later, [Maggie and fiancé James Rubin will] be married, and there will be grandkids, so we're stepping into a new phase of life," he continued. "And sometimes, that requires not talking about it and just moving on through."

"And sometimes, it requires sitting down and talking about it a little bit, saying, 'Hey, we need to check in a little bit and see where we're at now that everything's changing.'"

He explained that some of the most "dangerous" parts of a relationship can be the big "points of change," and it's up to the couple themselves to find ways to check in with each other on them. "I think the best time to dive into each other and really rediscover each other is at the worst times when you think things are falling apart," Tim continued.

Elsewhere during his conversation with the publication, he was asked about the secret to his long marriage, and further detailed: "Just a commitment that you want it to work."

"People are so easy to walk away from troubled times or bad times, or times where you don't get along. But going into a marriage and being in a marriage for a long time, you start to realize that, yeah, there are gonna be times you don't like each other. There are times you don't get along… but that's not a reason to walk out the door."

He revealed the promise that the couple had made to each other early on in their relationship, that their immediate response to hard times would not be to abandon ship. "The more you do that, that starts opening the door for that choice. It lessens the commitment, and it lessens the pride and respect that you have in your marriage."

The "It's Your Love" singer further gushed about how they weather change together. "You change as you grow older. And you change individually as you grow older, and you change as a couple as you grow older in time spent together."

"I think the best time to dive into each other and really rediscover each other is at the worst times when you think things are falling apart."

"And so the beauty, I think, in a long marriage, is you get the chance to fall in love with a new person every so often. Because people change. You gotta have that foundation, and you gotta always go back to it. The longer you wait to go back to it, the further away it gets, and you can get to a point where it's unreachable."
