A Russian oligarch has thrown the most lavish and extravagant wedding that is rumoured to have cost £700million. For that price tag performances by Jennifer Lopez, Sting and Enrique Iglesias were included, as well as a nine-tiered wedding cake, an £18,000 designer wedding dress and a fleet of Rolls Royces.

The pricey celebration will have been a mere drop in the ocean for father-of-the-groom Mikhail Gutseriev, who is estimated to be worth £4.3billion according to Forbes.

His son Said, 28, and university student Khadija Uzhakhovs, 20, married over the weekend in Moscow.

Jennifer Lopez flew into Moscow to perform at the wedding

Jennifer Lopez, who allegedly charges £1million for private performances, flew in to sing some of her greatest hits including Waiting For Tonight, If You Had My Love and Dance Again. She joked that the "hardest thing" she found was pronouncing the newlyweds' names.

Sting added to the musical line-up, performing Desert Rose, while Enrique Iglesias sang Bailando. Russian media reported that Beyoncé and Elton John also made up the music royalty, although this has yet to be confirmed.
