Mariah Carey has admitted that she has difficulty leaving her children with nannies, in a recent interview with New York radio station Power 105.6.“Unfortunately I have to have nannies,” she said. “But I’m very hands on. I fire nannies like this (snapping her fingers).”The 43-year-old, who wore a satin red negligee for the interview, added that while she did not enjoy dismissing the nannies, she felt it was sometimes essential.

“I hate doing it,” she revealed. “But I have to [in case] they try to make themselves more important in the baby’s mind than me.”Before having children, the gorgeous singer had previously admitted that she would fully commit to motherhood when she did eventually have kids.“I wouldn’t be just like, ‘Oh, I’m having a child, yay! Let me get a nanny so I can give her the baby. Take the kid’,” she said. “That doesn’t work for me, I don’t believe in that.”

In 2011, Mariah and husband Nick Cannon welcomed a pair of adorable two-year-old twins called Moroccan Scott and Monroe, whom they recently took on a Christmas break to Aspen. The couple have been married since April 2008 and are blissfully happy, but Mariah recently revealed that they had no plans to have any more children together. “Nick and I have a boy and a girl,” she beamed. “I couldn’t ask for better.” If Nick could have the babies himself, then maybe,” she joked. “Then, bring ‘em on! We love kids!”

Mariah went on to add that difficulties during her pregnancy had put her off having more children.“I had pre-eclampsia, I had gestational diabetes,” the Hero singer revealed. “It was a really difficult pregnancy and I was alone most of the time. We love Nick, but he was working. He’s the hardest working man in show business.”The America’s Got Talent host’s busy schedule means that he won’t be with his wife on Valentine’s Day, admitted a disappointed Mariah.“He’s not even going to be home from what I hear now,” she said. The diva went on to add that their romance was still alive, despite being apart.“I have to say Nick is very festive as well,” she revealed. “I give him credit where credit’s due; flowers, we celebrate our anniversary every month of the year.”
