Simon Cowell once feared he would love his dogs more than baby Eric before the tot was born

As a dog-lover who is proud owner of terriers Squiddly and Diddly, it comes as no surprise that Simon was moved by the cause.

The music mogul once joked that he feared he would love his dogs more than his then unborn son Eric, who he welcomed with girlfriend Lauren Silverman on Valentine's Day. "I actually said to Lauren beforehand, 'What if I like the dogs more than him?'" Simon told Extra. "And she said, 'You're gonna be absolutely fine,' and then literally within seconds of him being born, I got it." Simon has recently revealed that he would like to have baby number two with his American girlfriend. "Of course I'd like another child," he said speaking to The Sunday People before the launch of this year's X Factor series. "You have one, and I'd always have another. I've thought about having one in between the series of X Factor."
