Simon Cowell's son Eric is growing up! The music mogul's 12 year old looked bigger than ever in a new snapshot shared by his partner Lauren Cowell. The entrepreneur took to her Instagram on Wednesday, October 7, to celebrate Simon's 67th birthday with a carousel of photos, including pictures of Eric.
One particular image showed Eric sporting an Arsenal jersey as he stood tall in front of his mom and dad, joined by his half-brother Adam, Lauren's older son from a previous relationship. Lauren also included a picture of a young Eric surrounded by his parents and sibling at Christmastime, as well as a photo of the family together on a boat and Eric being sandwiched between his mom and dad.
Alongside the post, the mom of two penned to Simon: "Happy Birthday to my love."
"Nearly 15 years together and you still manage to surprise me, make me laugh and keep life anything but predictable (and that might be the understatement of the century [crying laughing emoji]). Through all of life’s ups, downs and everything in between, there is so much to be grateful for. But nothing makes me happier than watching you and Eric together.
"Here's to another trip around the sun, more adventures, more laughter, and most importantly, good health, happiness and all the things that really matter. We all love you so much."
Simon and Lauren, who have been together since 2012, welcomed their first child together, Eric, on Valentine's Day 2014. Shortly after his son's birth, the America's Got Talent judge remarked to Extra that he "was born to be a dad."
Speaking to HELLO! in 2024, Simon shared how becoming a father changed his outlook on life.
"Twenty years ago, I would have said I didn't think I was going to have kids because I thought I was too old," he told HELLO!.
"So when I got the news I was going to be a dad - and the first time I saw his scan - I was literally obsessed. Something changed and I looked at life in a completely different way.
"Every decision I make now I am thinking about Eric. Is it the right decision for him?"
Simon, whose parents Julie and Eric, died in 2015 and 1999, respectively, credits his son with saving him. Asked on The Diary Of A CEO podcast in 2024 if Eric "saved him," Simon answered: "Without question, without question. I really, really had reached the point where nothing mattered. Even to the point where I almost can't even remember everything from that period."
Simon also confessed on the podcast: "I think particularly when I lost my mum, I just was on a downward spiral at that point. I lost everyone. You know, I've lost my parents. This finality now. What I said about the material things I've got, everything just meant nothing at that point. I was desperately unhappy."
While he was "very successful," the "ridiculous workaholic" admittedly wasn't happy. However, after Lauren called to tell him that she was pregnant, that "changed everything" in Simon's life and made him "happy again."
