Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter announce engagement

Brody Jenner and Kaitlynn Carter are taking their relationship to the next level! Caitlyn Jenner's son took to Instagram this week to announce their engagement, and posted a loving tribute to his wife-to-be.

"On May 4th 2016 I got engaged to my lover and best-friend," He wrote: "I couldn't be more in love with this woman and I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with her."

Kaitlynn also shared a snap of her cuddling up to 32-year-old Brody, and wrote: "This trip has been memorable for many reasons. Happiest girl in the world!!!!"

Unsurprisingly both Brody and Kaitlynn seemed over the moon, and he posted a photo of them beaming at the camera, simply captioned: "Happy couple".

Former The Hills star Brody is said to have got together with Kaitlynn in early 2014, meaning stepsister Kim Kardashian allegedly dubbed their relationship 'too new' to warrant him a plus-one to her wedding a few months later.

The couple have been together since early 2014

Kim, 35, and 38-year-old Kanye West's nuptials took place in Florence in May that year, but Brody skipped the ceremony after being told Kaitlynn wasn't welcome. During an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians which aired shortly afterwards, Kim explained only close family and friends had been sent invitations.

But, clearly unsatisfied with Kim's explanation, later seemed to have a dig at his sibling when he and Kaitlynn attended a friend's nuptials.

Sharing a photo on Instagram, he wrote: "Look… @Kaitlynn_Cater and I finally get to go to a wedding together."

And, after Brody was reportedly overheard at Coachella cutting ties with that part of his family, it seems unlikely Kim and Kanye will be there to see him and Kaitlynn say 'I do'.

Congratulations to Brody and Kaitlynn! Do you think Kim will reach out to her stepbrother? Let us know in the comments box below.
