Christina Aguilera and fiancé Matt Rutler pulled out all the stops to give their daughter a birthday party to remember! The couple threw Summer, who turned two on 16 August, a Super Mario-themed birthday party complete with matching outfits, a bouncy slide and a play zone.

The 35-year-old smiled in snaps with her fiancé and two children, eight-year-old Max and little Summer, as they played on the slide and paddling pool and posed outside their beautiful home in Beverly Hills.

Christina and Summer both laughed as they played together while dressed in matching Mario-style dungarees and hats, while Matt cheerfully wore Luigi's green outfit. Meanwhile, Max decided to opt out of the fancy dress, instead wearing khaki shorts and a blue T-shirt as they spent quality time together before Summer's guests arrived.

The photos also showed off the Genie in a Bottle singer's recently dyed locks. Although the star is best known for her long blonde hair, she went for a drastic new look earlier this year by dying her tresses auburn.

Christina recently opened up about her two children, revealing that having kids is the "ultimate joy," while criticising the huge expectations put onto new mothers. She told Women's Health: "Mothers are constantly expected to be the nurturers, the givers, the providers of a comfortable home.

"We're expected to be pregnant, have the kids, breastfeed once we have the babies. And we're expected to look amazing after baby, right? Keep our husbands and boyfriends interested - because we're supposed to get back to sexy and keep things exciting in the bedroom.

"There's such a long list. Having children is the ultimate joy, and I love my kids, but women have to find time to nurture themselves. If someone has a baby, the first thing I'm like is, 'Okay, are you taking care of you?'"
