Beyoncé certainly managed to steal the show at this year’s Grammy Awards on Sunday night. Taking to the stage to deliver a highly energetic performance of her songs Love Drought and Sandcastle, it was clear to see that her biggest supporters were husband Jay Z and their daughter Blue Ivy. The cute father-and-daughter duo watched in awe as the pregnant star put on a show-stopping display with her hard-to-miss baby bump.
The Grammy nominee, who recently announced she is expecting a set of twins, looked sensational in an elaborate gold headpiece and a heavily embellished gown as she belted out her hit songs for the star-studded crowd. She was introduced by her own mother Tina Knowles, who told the crowd: "I'm blessed to have daughters, wonderful daughters [Beyoncé and Solange] with everything they do. All Grammy winners tonight, I'm proud of their accomplishments and their self-confidence and their desire to make a difference. What makes me most proud and why I'm here tonight is to introduce Beyoncé… Her devotion and love in what I see in her daughter... I believe she earned nine nominations for Grammys for her Lemonade album this year. With a mother's pride, my daughter Beyoncé."
During the ceremony, Beyoncé was reduced to tears after Adele beat her for Best Album of the Year with 25. The British star addressed Beyonce as she praised Lemonade, telling the crowd: "I can't possibly accept this award. I'm very humbled and I'm very grateful, but Beyonce is the artist of my life."
After the win, Adele said backstage: "The reason I felt I had to say something was my album of the year is Lemonade. She is my icon of my whole life." She added: "It's her time to win. My view is kind of what the (expletive) does she have to do to win album of the year? I felt this album showed another side to her that we haven't seen and I felt blessed to be brought into that situation."
Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s appearance comes shortly after she announced on Instagram that she is expecting twins. "We would like to share our love and happiness," she captioned a photo of herself holding her baby bump in front of a wall of flowers. "We have been blessed two times over. We are incredibly grateful that our family will be growing by two, and we thank you for your well wishes. - The Carters."
