While Vernon Kay may be parting ways with his wife, Tess Daly, after 18-years of marriage, the BBC Radio 2 host is quietly marking a big achievement when it comes to his career.
The BBC revealed on Thursday that 52-year-old Vernon's BBC Radio 2 show - which he took over from Ken Bruce in 2023 - is the most listened to on UK radio for the second year in a row with 6.6million listeners a week.
The publication also revealed Radio 2 has maintained its position as the UK's most listened to single radio station with a weekly reach of 12.6million.

The news comes after Vernon and wife Tess, 57, announced their split last week with a joint statement that read: "After much consideration, and with a deep sense of care and respect for one another, we have made the decision to separate amicably. "
"This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire of what is best for both of us," it added.

It added: "There are no other parties involved in this decision. We kindly ask for privacy during this time. We will not be making any further public comments."

On Monday, the 52-year-old broadcaster took to his weekday morning show on Monday, which airs from 9.30 am to 12 pm, to thank listeners for their support following his and Tess', joint announcement.
"I just want to say on behalf of me and Tess, thank you for all your well wishes, it has been greatly, greatly appreciated," Vernon told listeners.

Speaking to HELLO! last year, Tess revealed that she hoped her daughters would grow up to be kind, sharing: "I've always taught them that kindness is a superpower and it's the single most important personality trait you will ever own. Treat everybody with kindness, and that's the world you will experience back in return."
