Former Manchester United star Christian Eriksen suffered a health scare this weekend when he collapsed on the pitch in a match against Ukraine on Sunday.

The midfielder, 34, was quickly tended to by medics and was conscious when he was taken from the field. Christian previously suffered a cardiac arrest during a European Championship match in 2021.

Players from both sides formed a ring around Christian while he was being attended to and he was later able to walk to an ambulance.

Christian has been in a long-term relationship with Sabrina Kvist Jensen since 2012. The couple, who have two children, married in May 2025 in Odense, Denmark in a private ceremony.

Sabrina, 33, made huge sacrifices for Christian in the past, having left her life in Denmark to move to London with him when he signed with Tottenham in 2012.

She left behind her previous career as a hairdresser to become a WAG. Sabrina and Christian welcomed son Alfred in June 2018 and a daughter, born in late 2020.

Demanding career

The couple have shunned the parties of some Premier League players and instead prefer more low-key dinners with friends, including Harry Kane and his wife Kate.

Christian previously told The Mirror that the demands of his football career were difficult for Sabrina.

"You have to learn how to cope physically and mentally, but I can handle the pressure and the demands because I live seven days a week for my job," he said.

"That is very tough for my girlfriend. Of course I would like to go out in the city with her and friends, but it just doesn’t fit in with playing in England."

"Every three or four days I have to perform at the highest level and I have big ambitions and dreams to be a success here."

His career has also come with many perks, of course. In 2016, Christian signed a long-term contract with Spurs and bought a five-bedroom mansion in Hampstead for the family to live in.

The couple have largely kept their relationship out of the spotlight. Sabrina maintains a private Instagram account with just over 200 followers, including Kate Kane.

Christian usually posts about his career on social media but does share snaps of Sabrina and their children on occasion.

The most recent personal post on his grid was a family photo from 2023 of the couple posing with their two children. "Just love," he captioned the snap.

Christian spent more than a decade living in England during spells with Tottenham, Brentford and Manchester United before joining German side Wolfsburg in September 2025.
