Ladies of London alumni Misse Beqiri has opened up about grieving the loss of Jake Hall, the father of her eight-year-old daughter, River.
Taking to HELLO! in the Emirates x HELLO! suite at Wimbledon, the mother-of-two said breaking the news to little River was the "hardest thing [she's] ever had to do."
"It has been heartbreaking for us and the family. We really miss him so much and knowing him I know he would want us to do the best we can and keep going. We're just keeping his name alive and taking it day by day.
Of how her daughter is managing seven weeks since the tragic death, she added: "She's getting there. We're working with her, and again, you know, with grief, it can just get her at any moment. One day she's okay, next day she's not. The third day she's a bit angry and has a lot of questions. We're all helping her, we're all here for her. I'm very close with Jake's family, and we're all here, like we're all there to support her. And it's just been a really difficult time for everyone.
Talking about breaking the news to her, Misse added: "I would never imagined in my life that I will even be put in this situation been there before with another member of my family to now have to kind of bring this to my daughter. It was horrendous and hurtful, and it's because I knew how much she loved her dad, and for me to say, 'He's not here,' it's the worst thing I've ever had to do, I think, and will ever have to do.
"And everyone was very sad and upset. We were all crying together, hugging each other, but, she got us, she got her family, she got Jake's family she's very close to, so we're all keeping together and just loving each other very, very hard."
Family support
While Misse has done everything to support River at home, she has also opened up about River's bond with her brother Julian - whom Misse shares with her ex-partner Anders Lindegaard - and Jake's brother Sonny.
© InstagramMissé explained: "River's brother doesn't live here. He lives in Copenhagen. But we go there every school holiday. My son is playing football. He used to come here for the weekends, but now he's actually like a professional footballer. He plays for a professional team now. So he can't do weekends because they have a game. So we go there when River has holiday, and, or if he has holiday, he comes here".
On their bond she added: "Their bond is beautiful. She looks up to him, he's raised really well, Julian, and he's very overprotective over River. He wants her happy, and they just have this really magical bond, and I'm so happy that they have each other."
"Because even now, River growing up, she will have, a male figure to look up to, and she has obviously Jake's brother that she's very, very close to. But it's like, I'm so happy for her that she has a brother because that relationship is so, so special. So, we just take it day by day."
