Countryfile presenter Matt Baker announced he is navigating a big change at home with his wife of 21 years, Nicola Mooney.
Two months after announcing the "incredibly sad" death of their family dog, Bob, the former host of Blue Peter revealed that he has welcomed a new addition.
In a new video posted to Instagram, he held up an adorable border collie puppy and told fans: "We've come to say 'hi' to this lot, and this one here stuck out to us; he's definitely the one. Say hi to our new pup."
The tiny dog had clearly already formed a bond with his family, as he cuddled up in Matt's arms and licked Nicola's face in the adorable clip. However, Matt admitted there were certain preparations they had to make at their 11-acre country home in Chiltern Hills, Hertfordshire, for the new family member.
"The eagle-eared listeners of my pet podcast heard me say that we have a new pup at home and we’ve got baby gates everywhere. Here’s the day we chose him and the start of something epic," he wrote in the caption.
Fans flocked to the comments section to ask his name, which Matt has chosen to keep under wraps for now. Others, meanwhile, got emotional over the post, which resonated with them.

Family loss
In May, Matt took to Instagram to share the sad news that they had lost their family dog.
Alongside a slideshow of pictures of the border collie's life, from a puppy to old age, Matt opened up about the impact the pet had on his two children, Luke, 18, and Molly, 16.
© InstagramThe TV presenter penned: "It's with a very heavy heart that I'm letting you know our wonderful Bob is no longer with us. He's been gone a while but I haven't been able to talk about it as I've been finding it so incredibly sad.
"Bob was a brilliant dog. He was there for me with his gentle soul as the ultimate companion through some of the greatest chapters of my life from raising our kids to all the changes we made on our family farm.
"It's broken my heart but I feel hugely grateful to have had him in our lives and I thank him from the bottom of my heart for everything he's taught me and brought to our family.
"I'm sure all you dog lovers will agree the reason we love our dogs so much is because the only time they break our hearts is when they leave us. RIP Bob X."
