It's been more than half a century since Lynda Carter captivated audiences with her unforgettable portrayal of Wonder Woman.
Performing in the hit TV series between 1975 and 1979, the actress became one of the most iconic stars of her generation. In a high-waisted blue and star leotard and orange bandeau with gold breast plates, Lynda was a vision of female empowerment and striking beauty all at once.
Now, more than five decades on from landing the career-changing role, Lynda is celebrating her 75th birthday - and she looks just as glamorous as she did as Wonder Woman aged 24.

Landing the role in the show couldn't have come at a better time for the actress, who had spent several years touring with a band but had just $25 to her name when she found out she had the lead after actress Joanna Cassidy had dropped out of the role.
The show ran for three seasons and made Lynda an unforgettable force. Reflecting back on the time decades later, she said Wonder Woman gave her something rare.
"There is something about the character where in your creative mind for that time in your life where you pretended to be her… it felt like you could fly," she said.
She took on many roles afterwards, including in Supergirl, and even had a cameo as Asteria in Wonder Woman 1984.

Lynda has never wanted to distance herself from the part that changed her life forever. "I knew very early on that this character is much more than me," she said. "To try to divorce myself from the experiences that other people have of the character is silly."
In recent years, she has also been focusing her music, having released new singles including "To Be With You" (2026), "Pink Slip Lollipop" (2024), and the emotional ballad "Letters from Earth" (2024), all of which she said were written in memory of her late husband, Robert Altman, who died of secondary acute myeloid leukemia in 2006.

Recent pictures of the 75-year-old reveal a star who has not only made her onscreen persona timeless but also remained one of the most beautiful women in the industry.
In 2024, she made an appearance at the White House Correspondents' Association. Appearing in a navy gown with a sequinned feature on the chest and a black fur boa.
Lynda looked every bit the glamorous star with flawless skin, a red lip and a collection of chunky rings.

At The 15th Annual CNN Heroes: All-Star Tribute at the American Museum of Natural History in 2021, she proved her fashion prowess once more as she stunned in a black-and-white power suit.
She wore a high-neck black bodycon shirt and cream blazer alongside her signature chunky jewelled rings. Lynda had her enviably thick locks in a beautifully blow-dried style for the occasion and wore glamorous makeup.

Last year, she was joined by her daughter, Jessica, on the red carpet at the 2025 Paley Honours in New York City. The two enjoyed time with Patty Jenkins, who helmed the 2017 adaptation of the original show.
Lynda stunned in a gorgeous black silk slip skirt and black silk bustier with blood red silk gloves and a white lace duster jacket, while her lookalike daughter, Jessica, a singer-songwriter, rocked a stunning black silk A-line dress with a tulle underskirt.
