Richard Gere is now 77! The Hollywood star rang in his birthday on 31 August with his family, and his young son looked ever so grown up in a very heartwarming moment with his dad.
The Pretty Woman star's wife, Alejandra Silva, celebrated his birthday on social media on Tuesday with several pictures taken from their low-key party in the evening. Alejandra wore a stylish white maxi dress and block heels for the special occasion as she sweetly embraced her husband in a tender moment caught on camera.
"No one I'd rather spend my life with, happy birthday, I love you, we love you," she captioned the snaps.

Richard's son wore a matching party hat over his long head of hair and looked very smart in a long shirt and trousers. Standing on tiptoe, the young boy only reached his 5′10″ dad's waist as he adorably wrapped his arms around his parents in a warm hug.
Alejandra and Richard share two sons: Alexander, seven, and James, six.

The couple, who have been married since 2018, welcomed their first son together, Alexander, in February 2019. Their second son, James, was born in April 2020.
Richard is also a father to 26-year-old Homer Gere with his ex-wife Carey Lowell. Homer has followed in his father's footsteps to become an actor, more recently appearing in Ryan Murphy's new drama series The Shards alongside Cindy Crawford's daughter, Kaia Gerber.
Homer recently opened up about the "invaluable" advice his famous dad had given him on his acting journey so far, telling People: "It’s not like, 'What should I do in this scene?' It’s more like, how to carry yourself on set, how to make an acting career work in a way that’s sustainable.

Richard is also a stepfather to Alejandra's son, Albert, 13, from a previous relationship.
Richard and his wife have been raising their family largely away from the spotlight and enjoyed a stint in Alejandra's native Spain before returning to the States. "We had our family in Spain for one year," Richard told HELLO! exclusively. "She was really happy, because [of] her family and friends and her culture and her city and food – all of it, all of the cultural great stuff – so that was fabulous," he said of his wife.
