As the new season kicks off, find out all you need to know about James Blunt's life off-screen, including his wife and Ibiza home.
Who is James Blunt's wife?
James Blunt is married to lawyer Sofia Wellesley.
Since meeting in 2012, the pair have rubbed shoulders with high society, even attending the 2018 wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex due to James's friendship with Prince Harry from their time in the military.
However, Sofia has her own links to the British aristocracy. The 43-year-old lawyer was born to Lord John Henry Wellesley and Lady Corinne Vaes and is the granddaughter of the 8th Duke of Wellington.
She graduated from law school at Edinburgh University before embarking on a law career in London. In 2016, she was appointed to the board of Cherie's legal consultancy, Omnia Strategy.
Together with her husband, Sofia owns The Fox & Pheasant, a gastropub in Chelsea, London, which they bought in 2017.
James Blunt's marriage and family life
James and Sofia began dating in 2012, and became engaged the following year.
They wed on 6 September 2014 at a private registry office following an Elton John concert, before holding a bigger ceremony on the Spanish island of Majorca on Sofia's mother's Marsana estate.
The couple welcomed their first child, a son whose name remains unknown, in 2016. They have since welcomed a second son, but keep their children out of the spotlight. Singer Ed Sheeran is the godfather to one of the couple's children.
In a 2023 interview with The Guardian, James revealed how becoming a father had shifted his priorities. "Being hands on with my kids when I can is important," he said. "I am away for long periods. With my second child, I left the day after the birth for nine months. Fatherhood changed my priorities. I was selfish. Now these little people are far more important than me."
The Celebrity Traitors
James owes his spot on the show to his wife, admitting he hadn't even tuned in before finding out he'd be joining the cast for season two.
He told The One Show: "I haven't watched much TV but when I found out from my wife that I was on Celebrity Traitors – she signed me up for it. So I was given a speed-watch of the whole thing."
James Blunt's Ibiza home
James splits his time between the UK and Ibiza, having purchased a £1.7million home on the Spanish island in 2006.
In 2021, his six-bedroom home was ransacked by thieves, with around 100 items stolen. Thankfully, a number of sentimental items were recovered by police, including a pocket watch which belonged to his grandfather and a bayonet from James' time serving in the British Army in Kosovo in 1999.
