Miranda Hart has burst back into the spotlight thanks to her appearance in Celebrity Traitors.
The actress, who disappeared from the public eye in 2015, has delighted viewers of the BBC show with her enthusiastic sleuthing skills and viral dance moments.
As a result, she has a legion of fans cheering her on during her time in the castle - including her husband, Richard Fairs.
Despite opening up about her marriage, Miranda has kept her husband firmly out of the spotlight and has never publicly shared a photograph of him, choosing to keep their relationship largely private.
Who is Miranda Hart's husband?
Miranda might be a comedian and actress known to millions, but her husband Richard Fairs has a more low-key career. Richard works as a surveyor and owns a company called The Building Consultancy.
He shares two children with his ex Jeanne Speight, who he was with for over 25 years before they separated in 2017.
How did he and Miranda meet?
Love blossomed under unlikely circumstances for the couple. They met during lockdown in 2020 when Richard was hired as a project manager and building surveyor to fix a severe mould infestation at her home.
© Photo: Getty ImagesTheir first date took place in her living room. Miranda explained at the Cheltenham Literary Festival that the pair had chatted for hours while they waited for pizzas to be delivered.
"Unfortunately mine had shunted its way across the box and turned into a calzone," she said. "I was going on and on about my shunted pizza and it did not seem to faze him.
"We had already been talking for about two hours at this point and I realised almost immediately that I was in love with him."
Miranda continued: "It was our first date and to my surprise he came back for a second date, despite me having gone on and on about that pizza."
Richard's marriage proposal
Miranda opened up about Richard's proposal in her memoir I Haven't Been Entirely Honest With You.
In her book, the 53-year-old revealed: "We stood still on the bridge overlooking the lake when the silence was pierced as he rather seriously said, 'Miranda.'
"I turned around, and as I did, he got down on one knee. 'Miranda…' I don't remember anything else because I simply burst out crying, apparently saying yes before he had finished the sentence (awkward if he'd been tying a shoelace…)," she joked.
Miranda then went on to express how much Richard's proposal meant to her.
"I didn't think a traditional proposal would affect me so. But there was someone knowing all my ridiculousness and brokenness and still willing to bend down, look up and commit to loving me and standing by me for the rest of his life," she confessed.
Miranda confirms surprise wedding
Miranda and Richard tied the knot at St Peter and St Paul church in Hambledon in July 2024. The beloved British comedian announced her happy news on The One Show the following October, while promoting her book.
Saying it had been "a tough few years" as she battled Lyme disease, she added it hadn't been "all been doom and gloom", before announcing her wedding update.

She added: "He's my best friend, we have the best fun and I’m just thrilled to be a young bride at 51..
"The fact that I met someone during a pandemic, during chronic illness when I couldn't get out of bed or get out of the house, and I really really wanted to meet someone, I didn't want to do life on my own any more, and I kind of admitted that to myself and I tell that story in the book.

'The Mould Man'
Miranda chose not to publish Richard's name in her book. Instead, she referred to her partner as 'Mould Man' or ‘The Boy from Bristol' throughout her memoir, describing his look as a "salt-and-pepper greying hair look on a fine-featured man".
Fans' delight as Miranda finds her 'happy ever after'
After announcing the news of her marriage on the BBC chat show, Miranda said she found her fans' delight "really very touching".
Taking to X, she wrote: "I've got my best friend to do life with and it's wonderful and I'm also utterly thrilled to be back in telly land and having a book out so thanks so much for all your support."
