Sylvester Stallone is one of Hollywood's biggest names, and now one of his daughters is following in his footsteps. The actor shares the screen with his 24-year-old daughter Scarlet Rose Stallone in the drama series Tulsa King – a casting decision Sylvester has now defended in a new interview.
Scarlett plays the part of Spencer, who is hired as a ranch hand by Dwight, played by her real-life father, Sylvester. Sylvester, who both stars in and produces the Paramount+ series, opened up about the controversial "nepotism" label taking Hollywood by storm in a recent interview with USA Today.
"First they go, ‘Nepotism is terrible'. I said, ‘Oh please, you’re not a good parent if you haven’t performed a little nepotism'," the actor said.
"Then obviously you don’t care about your kids, because they come first," he added.
"Of course it’s nepotism, you idiot. That’s why we’re parents. We want the best for our children. So obviously, we let them have every advantage."
The actor then asked: "Can they maintain that level of excellence? That’s out of our hands. But if you can open the door, we’ll see if they have the ability to go through it."
"People will say, ‘She got that job; it’s too easy.’ You’re right. Perhaps it could be. But to maintain that, to be in front of millions of people, you either got it or you don’t."
Scarlet is following in her famous dad's footsteps
Before landing a recurring role in Taylor Sheridan's Tulsa King in 2022, Scarlet appeared in Mel Gibson's 2025 film Hunting Season.
Speaking of working on Tulsa King with her father, Scarlet told People: "It’s completely changed [our relationship] — a complete 180."
"We’ve been working together for the past five years, so now it’s become very natural."
Scarlet is one of Sylvester's five children, including his late son Sage who passed away in 2012. The Rocky actor shared Sage and a second son named Seargeoh with his ex Sasha Czack, and is a father to three daughters – Sophia, Sistine, and Scarlet – with his long-time wife Jennifer Flavin.
