Joe's Southern Table waves the star-spangled banner year round with its menu of Texas BBQ dishes and whiskey cocktails. Priding themselves on their 'Southern hospitality', the Covent Garden restaurant is upping the ante for Thanksgiving. Dinner is a binge-worthy event with clam chowder, shrimp and grits, bacon-wrapped chipolatas and turkey, all accompanied by a selection of Jim Beam Bourbon cocktails. The cherry on top of the pumpkin pie, however, is the news that the spot is celebrating the 396th year of Thanksgiving by giving away 396 prizes, from cocktails to hotel stays.

Thanksgiving Day at The Duke of Wellington

Revamped Victorian pub The Duke of Wellington is putting on a family-friendly affair on November 23rd. The Notting Hill boozer is opening up the grand dining room and piling plates high with sticky pork ribs, turkey, brussel sprouts with bacon, orange-scented sweet mash potato and cranberry-pecan stuffing. What's more, each course is matched with a Kentucky bourbon. Tickets are £25 for adults and £15 for children.

Giving Thanks, an Alternative Thanksgiving

The artist platform, Imaginarium, is showing another side to America's most famous tradition this year as they are joined by Andrew Begay, a Dine' Native American. A rare opportunity to experience Native American culture, the event will include music, stories and healing vibrations that have been passed down through generations. There will also be 12 courses of food cooked up by London pop-up supremos, Slap Ya Papa, with an emphasis on vegan and sustainable eating. All proceeds from the evening will be split between three charities which work with indigenous groups.

BIRD

London's original fried chicken and waffles joint, BIRD, is playing host to Thanksgiving this year by teaming up with Frank's RedHot sauces. The limited edition Thanksgiving masterpiece, dubbed the Franksgiving, features an American-style waffle base stacked with creamy mash, stuffing, gravy and a crispy-fried chicken breast oozing with Frank's Redhot. The burger is available at BIRD Islington, Camden and Shoreditch branches from 21 to 26 November.

Bulleit Bourbon Cocktail Class

Want to celebrate Thanksgiving with a glass or two in hand?  Taking place a day early (on 22nd November), The Nine Elms Tavern is hosting a cocktail class to teach you a whole host of tips and tricks when it comes to mixing up drinks. Using American whiskey brand Bulleit Bourbon, you will be taught how to create an old fashioned, as well as being given three bourbons to try; all in the name of learning, of course.
