There’s no doubt about it: bold jewellery is having a moment. Gone are the days of dainty chains and fiddly clasps, and in their place are heavy-duty links, mixed metals, T-Bars and chubby hoops. The eagle-eyed will have spotted this shift early on. This resurgence of statement accessorising happened in the early 2020s, bolstered by the ongoing cultural fascination with 90s and early Noughties fashion

The beauty of bold jewellery right now is that it takes on a natural aesthetic, with fluid sillhouettes and organic shapes that make it perfect for everyday wear. This look is so loved because it possesses the ultimate style alchemy: the power to elevate a wardrobe basic into a curated look with zero effort. And when it comes to building your own personal rotation, Missoma is the name to know.

Bold jewellery has a magnetic pull in fashion right now

Founded in London by Marisa Hordern in 2007, Missoma is a demi-fine jewellery brand that has earned a cult following by pairing timeless, but still statement, designs with quality that lasts. Among its customers is the Princess of Wales, who publicly wore the Zenyu Fan Chandelier Hoop Earrings twice: during her third day of the royal 2019 Pakistan tour, and again in 2021 for the Royal Variety Performance.

Royal approval aside, Missoma's timeless, high-quality approach is particularly evident in its new Essentials collection. Launched this spring, these ultra-durable pieces are affordable and perfectly poised to become the building blocks of your jewellery uniform. From chain necklaces and hoop earrings to chic statement bracelets, each piece is a wear-everywhere staple that you can layer effortlessly and will want to live in.

These are the pieces you’ll reach for every day – the foundations of your jewellery wardrobe. I love how easy they are to layer and style, whether you’re stacking them together or mixing them with your favourites. This really is jewellery to live in

Marisa Hordern, Missoma founder and creative director

The design process at Missoma is everything, with each step happening in-house at the brand’s London studio before a piece is made by hand from responsibly sourced materials. That includes 100% certified recycled 18ct gold vermeil on silver, 18ct gold plating on brass, sterling silver or 14ct solid gold. The brand is a specialist in micron plating, too.

And with plenty of the pieces from Missoma, and everything in its Essentials collection, being water-resistant, you can wear them all summer long, including when you're relaxing by the pool or living la dolce vita at the beach.

If you're looking to elevate your jewellery uniform, these are the chicest Missoma pieces to shop from the collection...

Lucy Williams T-Bar Knot Pendant Necklace

Editor's note

Somewhat of a modern classic, I have a serious crush on how the sculptural gold knot wraps around the silver bar on this necklace. It provides an on-trend mixed metals moment, but with a twist.

timepiece bracelet

Editor's note

I love how this bracelet echoes a vintage watch strap with the structured links, but still has a naturally fluid silhouette. It's the ultimate starting point for a stylish wrist stack.

heirloom bracelet

Editor's note

Chunky enough to be worn alone for more pared back days, this bracelet is the most elevated take I've ever seen on interlocking links. And it has a matching necklace...

heirloom chain

Editor's note

This chain is the sister piece to the above bracelet. I love the choker-style look it provides when on, and the clasp can be worn both at the front and back, depending how much sartorial drama I want to add to my outfit.

hoops

Editor's note

These hoops deliver everything I want from earrings: chubby, sculptural and lightweight. They are the ultimate leave-it-on piece, with the rounded shape creating a soft finish that feels both timeless and modern.

snakechain bracelet

Editor's note

This snake chain bracelet provides some much-needed fluidity to my wrist stack. I love how it feels substantial on its own, with a nod to nature, yet still layers seamlessly for more curated days.

mini paper clip chain

Editor's note

With its delicate links and clean geometry, this mini paperclip chain is as dainty as bold jewellery can get. For me, it's a subtle structural accent that pairs beautifully with low necklines.

large paper clip chain

Editor's note

I can't get enough of how this chunky paperclip necklace brings drama whilst retaining an elegant appeal. It's a reliable everyday basic that instantly anchors my casual outfits.

bangle

Editor's note

Fellow minimalists, I've found the bangle of our dreams. The curved profile of this makes it an understated yet commanding classic, and I'm pairing it with everything from floaty summer linen to crisp T-shirts.
