Victoria Beckham took to Instagram on Tuesday evening to share a sleek new video with her 32 million Instagram followers. In it, the former Spice Girl was introducing a product from her eponymous beauty line - the 'Contour Stylus' pen.

We couldn't help but notice that VB had donned a fabulous dress for the occasion. Although it was expertly ruched and slim-fit in design, it featured a deep burgundy colourway; a shade that is synonymous with autumn and winter! This is somewhat of a rogue choice given the blistering hot temperatures the UK is experiencing right now.

Dressing for the heatwave

There is a science behind what you choose to wear when the weather heats up, particularly when it comes to colours. Darker shades tend to absorb heat, which can make you feel seriously hot.

Warmer weather calls for lighter colours

Tonal dressing is often linked to seasons, too. Berry colours like the ones Victoria has just embraced evoke the autumnal leaves and the cosy feeling of the 'ber' months. This is why it can feel a little out of sorts in the summer.

Victoria gets shorty

One item that is always useful in a heatwave is a humble pair of shorts, and the mother of four has this look nailed; she always opts for a more tailored look.

In 2020, the mother-of-four went to Greece with David and shared a romantic snap of the pair on Instagram. In it, Victoria embraced the resortwear trend, and her white shorts looked incredible.

The CEO of Victoria Beckham Beauty defined her waist with a fabulous terracotta belt. She added the key item that we should all have in our wardrobes - an ultra-preppy, light blue Oxford long-sleeved shirt, which was oversized and tucked into her waistband. Such a sleek holiday ensemble.

Victoria always looks chic, no matter the temperature

By selecting a great fabric like VB, styling it with a sleek shirt, and adding top-notch accessories, this is the ultimate style lesson on wearing shorts in the sunshine.

Victoria's fashion brand

Victoria nearly always wears items from her fashion brand, no matter the weather. Her net worth is estimated to be around £70 million, largely thanks to her namesake fashion label. Her designs have graced the steps of the Met Gala, been worn by some of Hollywood's most influential actresses, and, in 2017, won her an OBE for contributions to the fashion industry as presented by Prince William.
