Blake Lively stuns at New York Fashion Week in first public appearance since birth of baby

Blake Lively made a show-stopping return to the spotlight on Thursday, less than two months after welcoming her baby daughter. The 27-year-old showed off her slim post-baby body at the Gabriela Cadena show at New York Fashion Week.

The new mother was glowing and confident in a black and white bodycon dress which featured waist cinching panels and a plunging V neck. Blake accessorised the look with Christian Louboutin heels and a yellow colour pop clutch for her stunning return to the red carpet.

Blake attended the show with her mother Elaine, and took time to pose with the Ecuadorian designer Gabriela after the event.

Fans were surprised to see the Gossip Girl actress at the show – she has kept a low profile since giving birth to her first child with husband Ryan Reynolds in December. Blake hinted that she might be gearing up for a return to the public eye early in February, when she shared a picture of herself with personal friend – and snapper-to-the-stars – Mario Testino.

Blake's radiant appearance is all the more surprising given what husband Ryan Reynolds has revealed about the first few sleepless weeks with their daughter. Jokingly describing himself as the "bloodless ghost of Ryan Reynolds", the 38-year-old actor said the baby was up every 45 minutes.

Meanwhile Blake has described motherhood as "the happiest time in my life" and spoke openly about her joy at starting a family with her Green Lantern co-star.

However one thing the couple have not been as forthcoming about is their daughter's name. After previously denying that their baby is called Violet, another moniker has risen to the surface – and it certainly is very unusual for a little girl.

Ryan and Blake are said to have named their firstborn James, according to E! News.
